Chabot College Fall 2020

Published

Hello, I didn't see a thread for Fall 2020 applicants so I figured that I would start one. Deadline has passed and the e-mail has been sent to our zonemail that the responses will be out on 4/30/2020. Anyone else applying?!? ?

Hi all,

I received the email this morning that I was accepted as well! Can't wait to meet everyone on orientation day.

I received an email notification this morning stating that I was not selected due to not meeting the communications requirement, however, I took and passed that requirement so this is an unfortunate situation... CONGRATULATIONS to those accepted/alternates and best of luck to those waiting! ?

Same thing happened here with my Psych requirement. Good luck on any other schools you’ve applied to?

Hi all,

I was accepted into the program today, as well. Just curious to see if anyone that's been accepted is either thinking of making a facebook thread or another Allnurses thread. I was curious to see if there were any facebook groups from previous years, but the latest one I found was from 2018. I wanted to get a feel for how the current students feel about the program, but I couldn't find any threads for that either. I checked here on Allnurses, facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Anyway, congratulations to everyone that was accepted!

Samantha

I hope this works. This is what I saw for Chabot 2019

Hello All

I was selected for chabot as an alternate #40. Feeling like my chances are slim. But never know. Crossing my finger for my other applications.

Congratulations to all. We hav worked hard to get here.

Hi All,

I was selected as an Alternate # 11. I am hoping I get in! Congratulations to all those accepted and the alternates. I also read that this year, classes will be "online" (information about this is posted on Chabot website). I am very nervous about courses being online especially for programs like nursing. But this is our new normal.

Does anyone know of any information about alternates within the previous years? For example, how far they go up the alternate list and what are the chances of getting in from an alternate list? I would like to know to get a sense on how well prepared I should be. I am happy and nervous at the same time. ?

Also, to those not accepted, keep trying!! It is a tough road but if this is your calling and passion. You will get it! I have applied for years from PA school, to a Master's program and now realizing after 4 years of going back and forth between professions, nursing was my calling!! Don't give up! Be positive, send good vibes out to the world and trust me, it will return!!! Hope everyone is safe and healthy!

Don't give up! Last year in June 2019, the 40th waitlisted person got an acceptance. They weren't lying when they said they go through an entire waitlist.

I'm nervous about the online format too though part of me is grateful because I live in Sacramento so the constant commute and travel will be one less thing that I have to worry about for at least one semester. I'm just glad that Chabot is striving through the covid crisis and is pushing forward. Some Sacramento programs seem to be scrambling under pressure and leaving students behind to repeat.

I agree! I am glad Chabot is making accommodations (as they should....we live in the most technological state, so we should be able to use these type resources). I feel bad for the students who have to repeat the semester in Sacramento. It is not their fault, but this pandemic is affecting a lot of programs.

Have any alternates been called off the list?

I am number 12, and I am still waiting

I think there’s going to be a lot of competition this year because East Bay decided to push their nursing program until Fall 2021. I’m thinking if some of those students applied to Chabot and East bay they may choose Chabot now.
