  1. Hello. I have been an LVN for 6 years. I got accepted into a traditional ADN RN program in the East Bay Area and I am waiting to hear back from another Bay Area program for possible LVN to RN transition acceptance (ADN- community college). I think I have a good chance to get in because of my application points and TEAS score. I would love to be selected to the LVN to RN transition program because it would be one less year of stress, school, and travel. However, part of me is afraid to dive in right away because I have lost a lot of skills that I have learned in the VN program over the years. My experience as an LVN is in inpatient mental health and providing psychiatric assessments for 5150 criteria. Do any current nursing students or nurses that have had to choose between regular RN and LVN to RN have any advice? Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    ARC Fall 2020 Lottery

I do not plan to attend in the Spring. I got accepted to a program this Fall and I'm afraid to risk waiting for ARC, especially with the lottery. I'm also waiting to hear back from other programs this Fall that are hopefully closer to home.

Pacific Union College ADN LVN-RN 2020 application

@Tinamina hey there. I took the TEAS in January. I studied for 4 weeks straight right after the Fall semester ended. I used the Mometrix book to help study. I literally read every page and annotated notes of subjects I struggled with. I also bought the practice tests from the ATI website and did those tests closer to the testing date. I mainly focused on my weaknesses which for me was English and Science. The Science portion to was the hardest and heaviest. Good luck to you!

Is the TEAS being taken at online at home? I was curious how the TEAS would now be administered.

I did not apply to Contra Costa. I didn't have the medical dosage calculation course pre-req to apply.

It's been so long, I forgot how to the application link. I tried through the student email and I still couldn't find it. Where would it be located? Thanks you.

    Los Medanos Fall 2020

I agree, but it depends on the program bc all program standards are different. I know that with my LMC application, I submitted my app with a repeated A grade in English but after receiving the notification email in March, LMC ended up using my original B grade back from 2004, which turned out fine bc the point value was the same anyway. Delta also only takes the first attempted grade. ARC and Sac City will take the highest grade as long as the course was taken at another district. Some programs will subtract/not receive additional points for repeated grades (Sac State, Sierra) and others might average the two grades together in the GPA (Chico). Earning a B in the sciences is pretty good considering how intense they were.

    Chabot College Fall 2020

I'm nervous about the online format too though part of me is grateful because I live in Sacramento so the constant commute and travel will be one less thing that I have to worry about for at least one semester. I'm just glad that Chabot is striving through the covid crisis and is pushing forward. Some Sacramento programs seem to be scrambling under pressure and leaving students behind to repeat.

    Merritt College ADN Fall 2020

They're rated #13 for the entire state for 2020 so the program must be pretty good. https://www.registerednursing.org/state/california/#rankings
