  1. Thank you so much! I am still patiently waiting. Should I email the manager that interviewed me for an update soon?
  2. Hello, I was wondering the same thing. Was anyone hired and can give an idea of how the time line went? I was referred and received a interview. They asked for my references at the end of the interview but its been 3 weeks and not a word. 😫
  3. I also applied for various RN positions, referred to managers for them, and only received two interviews. The first I did not get the position, the second was for the new grad program, in which I am still waiting for any updates. 😕 I was fortunate to receive the first interview as I graduated back in May with only an ADN. I am, however, working on my MSN. 😅 Thank you and your family for your sacrifices. I hope you hear back soon!
  4. I was referred on the 15th, and I had the interview in the first week of Dec. I am a veteran, but I did not apply for preference. I did add my DD214 with my supporting documents. How about you?
  5. Hello, has anyone applied to the VA New Grad Program for March 2021? My application has been referred, and I had an interview that I felt that I bombed, but they asked for references. Does anyone have any idea what is next?

New Grad RN Programs in Bay Area, CA

Good luck! It is relatively hard as a new grad in the Bay Area. Many ADNs and BSNs are working at SNFs to get experience before getting hired at hospitals.

New Grad RN Programs in Bay Area, CA

Have you applied to any? I applied to Sutter Health's new grad programs and the VA New grad program for Palo Alto. The Sutter Health ones are up a few hours at a time and the application for the VA program just closed the end of November.

Modifications of NCLEX This Oct 1,2020

Honestly, it doesn't look that different than the Covid test changes. They are going to reintroduce the 15 pretest questions making the minimum back to 75 and max of 145, which means the "sample test questions" are still not included. However, the NCSBN states there is a voluntary section where a person can take the sample test questions if they wish. So technically the computer will still be testing on the 60-130 to find the 95% confidence interval.

Nurse Achieve Cat and Passed NCLEX?

I’m a bit confused, are you looking up your license in Illinois or CA? If you applied to state boards of Illinois, you have to look up your license in Illinois and it will not show up in CA boards. If you want to work in CA, I think you need to apply for license of endorsement (which is extra $) with the CA boards to be able to have a license to practice in CA.
  10. Hello everyone, I am a recent RN grad in CA and a military vet. As all of you know, due to the pandemic everything was so backed up. I applied May 12 and graduated May 20. My school sent in my transcripts within the first two weeks of June. I read online that if you are a vet or spouse of a vet, your application can be expedited. However, no where online did it say how fast it would be compared to other applications. 5 weeks after I submitted my application, I emailed the BRN to ask if they were still in fact expediting vets and the answer was, “yes, we put the application on top of the pile.” I waited 8 weeks (the minimum amount stated on the BRN website) from when I submitted and decided to call to ask again. I spent 1hr and 20 minutes on hold for them to tell me they give their evaluators 4 weeks from the receipt of transcripts to approve the application. I told them it had been close to 4 weeks and I am guessing that sent a flag to the evaluator and two days later I received my ATT. I am not sure how fast my application was compared to others since many people who applied after me had received their ATT. However, I was the first of my class as most of them received theirs two days later. So now about the NCLEX. I took my test at 0800, I chose early in the morning because I did not want to stress the whole day leading up to the test. I was too afraid to drink coffee that morning because I did not want to be too jittery and rush through the test. I was the first person in the room and I was so nervous. I sat down and said a quick prayer. Once the test started, I kept telling myself to slow down and take a deep breath between all the questions. One after another, I felt like s***. I was like “W T F!? is this s***?!” the whole time. I used UWorld, Kaplan (both provided by my school,) free trial of Nurse Achieve, and Mark K. I felt like I was guessing between two answers the whole time. I had about 6 SATA, 1 drag and drop, and no math. I have read many of these posts and most people agree that the more SATAs indicate a high chance of passing since they are “harder style questions.“ Well ***, I only had 6 and when I got to 60, the spinning wheel of death popped up and after a few seconds (which felt like eternity) the survey popped up. I looked at the time when I finally left the room, I was in there only for 40 minutes. I honestly did not know what to feel. I knew it was either I did alright enough to pass or I ***ED up real bad and failed. I went home and tried the PVT and to my relief, I got the good pop up!! I did it a few times just to make sure. 😅 I also kept checking the breeze website to see if my license would pop up. Two days after my test, my license popped up, I did not even purchase the quick results. TL;Dr I passed with 60 questions in 40 minutes. I used : -Kaplan mostly during school -UWorld. this was the main thing I used, the whole qbank, Mixed, timed, and no tutor once I had about 900 questions left. 75 questions/day. Read all rationales. First test was borderline and second was high chance of passing -free trial of nurse achieve for the CAT style. Had pass-passes and solid passes -Mark K audio, I had older versions but it was still really helpful refreshing concepts.

Nurse Achieve Cat and Passed NCLEX?

Hey, just wanted to update you that I did pass! My license showed up this morning. Aside from Kaplan and Nurse Achieve have you heard of UWorld and Mark K? My school offered Kaplan too, but I did not like it as much as UWorld.

Nurse Achieve Cat and Passed NCLEX?

@Stevo40 I don't think you should wait, but you'll probably get there before your next test date. After a few tests from nurse achieve, I began to recognize some of the questions. Therefore, I would not solely use just nurse achieve if you have access to other resources. 😃 Good Luck!!

Nurse Achieve Cat and Passed NCLEX?

Hello, I took my NCLEX yesterday (8/11,) so I still do not know if I passed or not. I did receive a "good pop-up" on pearson, so hopefully, I did. Anyways, to answer your question, I used UWorld, Mark K, and the 30-day free trial from nurse achieve. The first attempt I failed on nurse achieve, but I am chalking it up to my toddler daughter being on my lap and me not being able to focus. I did take more of the CATs and received Pass-Pass and Solid Pass after that. Good Luck on your second exam, you got this!
