  1. Lodi Memorial. They hire their CNA's and student nurses as RN's after passing the NCLEX for the most part, so look into it if you're interested and have the time to work while in your last semester. Good luck
  2. Hello. Are there any California nurses that have completed Capella's RN to BSN program? I'm just wondering if anyone who has, has had any problem with moving forward in their career with a BSN from Capella and if a degree from Capella is looked at "differently" than a degree from a traditional State University, in California. Thanks.
  3. Hi. I recently dropped my RN to BSN program at a local state university because they were not willing to work with my work schedule. Even in the year of COVID they expected me to be available for mandatory Wednesday zoom class. I have since enrolled in Capella's RN to BSN Flexpath and I like it, thus far. I'm just wondering if anyone that lives in California has completed their RN to BSN through Capella Flexpath. If so, have you had any issues getting a nursing position? I wanted to know if those who get a degree from Capella are looked at any differently than those who go through an RN to BSN program through a traditional school, especially in California. Would love to hear from Northern California nurse, but anywhere in California would be fine. Thanks!
  4. Just as an update to anyone reading this, I graduated with my ADN in May 2020. I am currently a RN working at a nearby hospital. I was able to get into a new grad RN residency program. So if you're reading this, are in your pre-reqs and are thinking of your future, putting your "cart way before the horse", it's possible to get a job in a hospital in Northern Ca, without prior healthcare experience, and with an ADN. It is hard, but it is possible. Tuition assistance is also offered at my hospital, but after you have worked for a year. Other hospitals may offer assistance with a contract to work for them for 2 years.
  5. Hi all. I'm about to graduate in a week from nursing school and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the topic. Do you know of any hospitals in/near Sacramento, CA that would hire a new grad contingent upon taking/passing NCLEX? I'm wondering if it is OK to start applying now, specifically for this region. I'm receiving mixed answers, mainly from sources that don't live in the area/state, so I'm just wondering what it's like in this situation here. I'm considering applying as far out as Vallejo, Woodland, Stockton and Modesto if need be. Thanks for your input. ?
  6. Hello, The question is pretty much in the title. Does anyone know? Graduating in May and then will be possibly going on to CSU-Sac Fall 2020 for RN-BSN program, pending admission decision. I'll be looking for a job after NCLEX, but I was wondering if anyone knows of/if hospitals hire new grad ADN's in the Sacramento area. Thanks.
  7. I know that this question has been posted numerous times in the past, but I'm asking specifically about Sacramento, CA. A little background: I'm finishing my third semester in 2 weeks in an ADN program outside of Sacramento. I graduate in May 2020. After graduating/passing the NCLEX, I plan to apply for a position in Sacramento, as a new grad. I have also applied to attend the RN-BSN program at CSU-Sac in Fall 2020, in hopes this would give me a leg up when I apply for jobs. Would having my ACLS and PALS certification give me a leg up when I apply at the Sacramento, CA area hospitals for ER, med-Surg or other units? I'm trying to get any advantage that I can, seeing as how I am not in a program in Sacramento (so I haven't been to a clinical in the area hospitals) and have heard it can be hard for new grads to find a job here. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  8. Does anyone know when the books will be available to view/order?
  9. I would like to do mine in Lodi, since it is closer to Sacramento for me. 2nd choice would be St. Joseph's in Stockton. Like yourself, my registration date is in July, so hopefully Lodi is available at that time.
  10. I applied to Sierra College in Rocklin, CSU-Sacramento, American River College, Sacramento City College and Delta. My first choice would have been Sacramento City College or CSUS so I could go straight to my BSN, but at SCC it was the luck of the draw and I wasn't lucky and with CSUS, the criteria changed this semester and there were many applicants with high points. I was not one of them, unfortunately.
  11. Oh, no! I'm so sorry that happened!
  12. Interesting. I just realized the paperwork says 06/11, but when you're online accepting or declining, it says 06/04. I'll go with 06/11.
  13. Also, Sacramento area schools sent out their decisions last month so hopefully students that got accepted to those schools will decline their spots to Delta as well. Delta was my last resort in case I didnt get in to the Sacramento schools. Guess I'll be making that 45 min to an hour commute!
  14. I Had 76 or 77 I believe
