hi there! I just got my acceptance letter for the hybrid program! I'm ecstatic but also extremely nervous now. In your opinion, do you think this program is doable for working RNs? I've been working as an LVN for Sutter for the past 3.5 years and have some prospective RN positions available within Sutter once I pass NCLEX. Hypothetically, if classes return on campus for this Fall, do you happen to know what days to meet on campus?

congrats!! What program are you in, the hybrid or fully online? I think I'm leaning towards the hybrid. Do you happen to know approximately how many applicants they receive for each program? I emailed the school and asked but they were very vague and didn't give an approximate amount.

I did not. I planned on applying but the Fall 2020 application was closed due to COVID-19

I got into Los Medanos College in Pittsburg. I applied for CSU East Bay Fall 2020 prelicensure as well but was I denied back in March. Now that I am at LMC, I applied for the CSUEB post-licensure ADN-BSN for Fall 2021.

I'm pretty sure the new waitlisted people would be at the end of the list. That would make sense.

haha no worries! So the "not guaranteed admission" that they mentioned, I'm assuming is just them clarifying that this is a waitlisted spot and with standard waitlists, there is no guaranteed admission. Just a waitlist, waiting for someone to decline and then move up along. They didn't mention in the email how many people they are considering for this waitlist, just a "small amount" for Fall 2021. I'm assuming a large amount have already declined since the program was deferred a year and those students might have gone elsewhere into other programs that have already started for Fall 2020. Or they will anticipate more people declining if students get into a program starting in Spring 2021. Don't lose hope! There's still a chance!

Hello, For those of us that were denied admission for the Fall 2020 prelicensure BSN program (prior to the deferment), it looks like there is some good news for a selected few to be added to the waitlist for Fall 2021. I received an email today from CSUEB: "Hi Desiree, We have an unusual circumstance in that our office is expanding the waitlist by a small amount for the incoming fall 2021 Pre-licensure program. This class was deferred from the fall 2020 admit class (which you applied for last year) and is starting one year later. As part of the deferral process, we selected a small group of students that were previously denied and would like to give them an opportunity to now be considered on the waitlist for this deferred admission class." I was selected to be placed on the waitlist (no guarantees for placement). I am respectfully declining this offer bc I started at Los Medanos this Fall (third semester) and will graduate in May and I applied for their post-licensure ADN-BSN collaboration for Fall 2021. Hopefully, this brings some good news for those who were previously denied.

I'm in the program now. I joined this semester (3rd) as an lvn-RN transition student. I love this program. I definitely feel well prepared and I'm learnign so much. The faculty is amazing, patient, and encouraging. They truly want the students to succeed and pass. I've heard horror stories from my friends in other programs and I feel very lucky and happy that I chose LMC.

Hello. I withdrew my seat for this cohort this evening. I got into an LVN-RN bridge program so I chose that opportunity instead (I was waiting for backgrounds to clear). Hopefully, I make someone on the alternate list very happy! Best of luck to everyone!

Hi there! Sorry for the late response. I am actually going to decline the offer bc I got into an LVN-RN bridge at a community college that starts this Fall and way cheaper for my budget. My friend got into PUC and I'm bummed that I won't share this experience with her and everyone else that got it, but financially, this is the route for me. I wish everyone the best of luck! We've all worked so hard to get here and are going to be amazing RNs. For those wondering about stats: I had a 4.0 GPA in prerequisites, an 88% on TEAS, and I didn't have to take the ACT due to COVID. My friend got into the program with a 3.45 GPA in prerequisites, a 78% TEAS and she got in the 30s for her ACT. She also speaks a second language.

Gotcha. You sound very much on top of it. 55 would be incredible. I applied for traditional RN this year as well and I was selected to move onto Phase 2. I'm assuming those acceptance/alternate notifications will come out after September after the TEAS test for those who haven't taken it yet.

my friend just called. she said that the department appeared frazzled and overwhelmed. The lady on the phone said that the emails went out (which they have not) and that the physical letters have not been mailed out yet. The lady said to contact ------------------ directly for more information. Myself and my friend sent emails to her earlier in the week with no response. This person said to put in the subject line "LVN-RN Program, URGENT 2nd Notice."

Hi @RNmoss As mentioned earlier, I got 60/75 on phase 1. I received points for having a bachelors, LVN license, 4.0 in sciences, 3.7 on remaining prereqs, and life experience. I do not have a military background and I don't speak a second language. I'm not sure what your academic background is. I would confirm with a counselor to see if you are able to retake courses that you got a B or C in to improve the GPA. I've been going to school FOREVER and switched careers so for me personally, I retook my B courses from years ago so that I could replace them with A's, but I had to take them at another school district. For example, I got a C in psych in 2004 from Los Rios, a B in statistics from DVC, and a B in english from Sac State. I retook these courses at Sierra College, an outside school district. It should be easier now that everything is online. Also with this time, I would try to get an associate's degree because that adds 5 points to the application. You can also try getting a CNA or MA license because that adds an extra 5 points. You can also try to take 4 semesters of a foreign language because that will add another 5 points.
