Hello, I didn't see a thread for Fall 2020 applicants so I figured that I would start one. Deadline has passed and the e-mail has been sent to our zonemail that the responses will be out on 4/30/2020. Anyone else applying?!? ?

Hi,
I applied as well, but I have not received any email updates yet. I know my packet was delivered on time due to the tracking but no notifications so far.
Did you check your zonemail through Chabot? I got the response that it was received on 2/6/2020. If you haven't received it, contact Mario Orozco ([email protected]). He sent the email out.

Hey There!
Thanks for starting this post. I also applied and received the confirmation email via Zonemail. Happy I got my application in and can breathe a little, but 4/30/20 feels soo far away to wait for another status update. Well, let the waiting game begin! Good luck everyone ?

Does anyone know what the time frame is for accepting a spot in the nursing program? I have applied at multiple schools like most of you and I am curious about how long they usually give someone to decide?

It depends on the program as each is different. I had one that gave me a month to reply and another that gave me 2 weeks. Unfortunately you will either have to call the department to find out or just wait for the instructions when your notified.

Hi all! I’m glad I found this forum, I’ve been so anxious playing this waiting game and we still have more than a month to wait. How are you all holding up?!
Good luck to all applying for Chabot’s ADN Fall 2020 ?

Guys... if you have the option to attend the CSUEB - BSN Nursing program and the Chabot ADN - Nursing program (with the possibility of transferring to CSUEB later on to complete the BSN) which one would you chose and why?

I truly think it comes down to each individual when it comes to this dilemma...
As for myself, I would choose to go the ADN route, sit for the NCLEX to become licensed as a registered nurse, begin work ASAP and while working, also complete CSUEB’s online ADN to BSN program. My reasoning for this option is that I am still fairly young (I think! LOL), I currently don't have dependents that require my support (so I’m not too worried about time spent in programs to eventually obtain a BSN) and it seems to be the option that is more cost effective. On the other hand, completing the BSN program at CSUEB right off the bat and skipping the ADN altogether could very well be the better option for someone who feels like they would like to complete their education, reach their career goal quicker and wouldn’t mind forking out a bit more moolah to attain a BSN quicker!
There are absolutely pros and cons to both, depending on your own personal situation, of course. It’s important to weigh those out! I hope this helped ?
