Hello Everyone,
Here we go again! This is my second time applying to CCBC's nursing program. I look forward to chatting with everyone as we wait for the GOOD news! I believe things happen for a reason! I have good faith that Fall 2011 is going to be my turn for acceptance. I guess we will see if I am right.
For anyone who was not accepted this Spring, we can be a great support system for each other :).
GOOD LUCK!!!
Wow- I am sorry to hear those things about Gwen. I had a really good experience meeting with her. She met with my husband and I when i was trying to figure out where/how to attend nursing school and she was really informative and helpful. They also worked thru some odd transcripts to transfer in some classes.
Funny about people having dreams of getting accepted....wish I had a dream like that!
Yeah I also wish there were other programs. I know CCBC is a good program but being the only (local) game in town isn't healthy competition. So strange that they want more nurses and career changers but don't make it accessible. I cannot afford to quit my job and go to day school, as I am sure this is the same for many on this board.
I'm the same way. I work at Hopkins and they offer a program that allows nursing students to go to school full time, work full time and still maintain their full time benefits. My job is and never will be part time so it sucks that I can't take advantage of that. :-(
But I agree, it's stiff competition because many others are going for the same program.
I also work at Hopkins and I was told that program is only for hospital employees and I am university. Oh well i guess I will just adjust my schedule if i get in. Right now I am working 2 jobs but i could cut down to 1 if i had to. It seems like alot of us appied to the nights and weekends program....
That's what my impression is of that program as well. I look at it as it being a quick way of having new nurses at the hospital and I think there's a time frame that you must be finished by which seems a bit out there considering it's nursing, I wouldn't want to rush myself, I'd rather go at my own pace to know that I'm retaining information and learning everything rather than rushing for the sake of having a job.
Where at do you work? I work in the outpatient center.
