Can you walk into the NCLEX-RN exam with gum in your mouth?

Since I like chewing gum when I take exams, can I walk into the exam with gum already in my mouth? I know that nclex says no gum or candy but if I already have gum in my mouth could I go into the exam? thanks!

LOL, I did and I was told before I was escorted into the exam room to spit it out. No bracelets, nothing.

I tried to be sneaky and do this but when they took my picture the lady handed me a Kleenex to spit it out. :(. They make you get rid of everything, watches, earrings, gum, etc. And they check all of your pockets too! :(

So if I want to try to be sneaky and get caught I wont get kicked out of the exam? They will just ask me to spit it out?

Yeah I guess. They caught me before I even got the room though so I don't know what they'd do if you had it in there. Might be too risky!! ;)

My testing center was more lax then some, I got away with chewing gum and I got to keep my earrings lol. But it really depends, I did a good job hiding it under my tongue I guess.

Why do you feel it necessary to break the well-defined rules?

Is this an indicator of future employee/employer relations?

What happens if you show up on somebody's sneaky camera/phone/video and your score is chalenged? NCLEX invalidates your test and ...?

Wallets go in a locker. I had a terrible cough and they let me take in cough drops so I wouldn't disturb anyone. I had to unwrap them and put them in a little paper cup they provided.

I like to have peppermint candies when I test but I know I won't be able to. I will not do anything to jeopardize my passing the NCLEX. If they told me I had to take the test naked, I would LOL
