I have looked into hospice and that is my long term goal after getting my RN. However I do know in PA. its based on the county you want to work in. I know in Erie county you must be a RN, in Warren county you can be a LPN at least last I knew. Best of luck to you:saint: It takes a special person to be in that area of nursing.
Nicole-
YES! I'm an LPN and have been doing hospice nursing for the past 7 years in Louisiana. Hospice is more of a calling than a career choice. You will not be able to go directly into hospice (most agencies require at least 2 years of med-surg or LTC nursing).
I'm currently in an RN program, and look forward to the additional responsibilities that I will have as an RN.
Good luck to you!
