Okay my interview is on Monday for a patient transporter position. I am currently a nursing student and I have lab Monday. I just bought an outfit to wear because I have an interview on Monday for that transport position and one Thursday for an Aide position. Thursday I shall be dressing up, but I really do not want to dress up on Monday, I cant be late for lab or I will be locked out and I already know I will be late dressing and changing clothes and then rushing to school. If I don't change I probably can make it right on the dot...by speeding a little I figured I can just explain this to whoever is interviewing me. Besides doesn't it make me look like I am committed to my school work?
I can't miss lab and nor do I want to. It is for OB and I love OB lab. If it helps any the interview is at Children's. And I would make sure my scrubs aren't wrinkled!!
Opinions please! Thanks.
It's an old topic, but I wouldn't wear scrubs to an interview. I'm wearing black pants and a white shirt to class Thursday and then running to my interview afterwards (interviewer knows I'll be a little late due to the fact that he canceled the Monday interview). I am going to throw a blue button down shirt.
You could potentially get away with it if your scrubs are like my school's scrubs and you wear black pants that you can pick. I have one or two nice black scrub pants that could pass for pants.
I've worn scrubs to 2 interviews and I was offered both positions. One director said "You look like you're ready to come to work!" when I walked in the room. So I have nothing negative to say about wearing them.
That being sad...that's only two interviews. Not exactly a great sample size. :)

I wouldn't wear scrubs to an interview, and I realize you're in a tight position with the interview being so close to your lab. If I were you, I'd call off the interview with my deepest apologies. Another has said that what if your interview runs late?? Then you lose your lab- which is so much more important.
The only other way around this, that I can see is asking your lab instructor if you can be a few minutes late and explain why. You might be surprised.
