Can I wear my scrubs to an interview?
For those of you who said pick a different day....dont you think I would try? The only days she had available was Monday and Tuesday and I was the first she called so she gave me the first choice. And the hours she told me on both days I either had class or lecture and I am not allowed to miss either. So she told me she could squeeze me in a bit earlier. I am not rescheduling as these were the only two days available. I guess I will just bring my scrubs in my purse and hurry and change in the bathroom right after the interview.

Can I wear my scrubs to an interview?
Okay my interview is on Monday for a patient transporter position. I am currently a nursing student and I have lab Monday. I just bought an outfit to wear because I have an interview on Monday for that transport position and one Thursday for an Aide position. Thursday I shall be dressing up, but I really do not want to dress up on Monday, I cant be late for lab or I will be locked out and I already know I will be late dressing and changing clothes and then rushing to school. If I don't change I probably can make it right on the dot...by speeding a little I figured I can just explain this to whoever is interviewing me. Besides doesn't it make me look like I am committed to my school work? I can't miss lab and nor do I want to. It is for OB and I love OB lab. If it helps any the interview is at Children's. And I would make sure my scrubs aren't wrinkled!! Opinions please! Thanks.

Health Assessment has got me depressed.
My Fundamentals teacher has been supportive from day 1 and I think that's the only reason why I am doing amazing in her class. She personally emailed me and told me she was shy and just like me while in nursing school and told me I could go to her if I ever need anything. Don't worry about Patho, trust me you will be fine especially if you are taking it online (: If we fail two we are also out of the program..and as long as you get a 76% on your finals this week you should be fine. You can do it, I know you can!! Study your butt off for the next couple of days and good luck. I'm really bummed because I have a clinical group and everything already assigned to me and I was so ready to move on in Fundamentals but I can't move on because of Health Assessment now :/ Apparently if you dont pass one you can't move on in the other. Thanks for sharing btw, made me feel a little better (:

Health Assessment has got me depressed.
You guys are probably all right. I'm going to finish the class strong, take the hesi and then schedule an appointment to meet with my teacher so I can talk to her. And then I'll suck it up and re take the class and do better this time around because I know what to expect and I have no excuses this time. I guess what I was trying to say is I don't think the teachers tests were fair. I have taken practice nclex and hesi questions and they are nothing compared to this teachers tests. I don't have a problem with taking those tests, I have a problem with this teachers test..and I just really think it's unfair when I know material but I have to waste money and time and go through it again because someone makes it almost impossible to pass a class. I'm not too many points away from being able to pass so who is to say the person who has 15 more points than me knows the material better than me? I hope someone out there gets what I am saying :/ I'll take the class again but it just sucks because I honestly know I'm ready to move on :/

Health Assessment has got me depressed.
I have two professors. One who does all the grading, study groups and emailing etc and another who lectures and makes the tests. The one who I am "having problems" with, I refuse to meet with. I have met with the other so many times though and went through each question I got wrong on the test. It kind of makes it hard to approach a teacher when she embarrasses you and calls you out for being "shy" the third week of class. On top of that she gives me attitude when I ask her a question during a exam but she talks to everyone else. I was kind of hoping I would be done with her and her ridiculous class. I know how to assess a patient, how to listen to breath and heart sounds etc. I'm not dumb and I know the information. It makes me sad no one else can see this besides me. I spend half the day at school and the other half studying and doing homework and all my hard work doesn't seem to show. I'm sorry I'm not good at guessing what the right answer is like a lot of other people, my brain doesn't work that way. I learn what I am taught. I am good at critical thinking which is why I am doing fine in my other classes. It's also kind of hard to pass an exam when each question is worth 5-6 points. So pretty much you miss a couple and then you're done. I guess at the point there is no one else to blame but myself. I learned my lesson and worst case I have to take the class again and it will just be a refresher for me and maybe I'll even learn some new things. It just kind of sucks when I see others who are just as knowledgeable as me moving on and I'm stuck here...

Health Assessment has got me depressed.
Yeah sadly if you have below a 76% test average at my school you automatically get an F. Doesn't matter what your grade is. So whether I drop or not I will get an F. Only good thing is if I have to retake the class and I get a B they will replace the F with a B. And honestly..I dont care about the teacher or her getting in trouble etc. I just wanna be able to prove to the dean I know the information so I can move onto the second part of the session. That's all I want honestly. But I feel so hopeless, I wasted my parents money and my time because of something so silly like this.

Health Assessment has got me depressed.
So I have been taking Patho, Fundamentals and Health Assessment. I am doing amazing in Patho..I actually have an A and I have a B in Fundamentals. The first part of the session is over next week..we have finals. Well according to my calculations. I am not going to meet the exam average of 76% in Health Assessment. Of course I have well over that right now..but my exam grades are suffering. I know I shouldn't make excuses but I honestly know the information. My teacher is ridiculous. She doesn't even make the test hesi or nclex hard she just makes it tricky and hard in general and all my other classmates agree. I knew what each question on the test was asking but none of the answers were the choices. For instance we learned wheezes sound like a wosh wosh washboard..well on the exam she had A. Bubbling B. Gurgling and like two other options that had nothing to do with it. Well I picked bubbling because wheezes are high pitched and apparently I was wrong. My point..she teaches things way differently than she tests. We have one more exam..the Hesi it is worth 100 points and even IF I do get a perfect score I will be a couple points away from the 76% cut. My question is...should I prepare for the hesi this weekend..do amazing on it and prove that I know this information and then go to someone higher up and tell them my situation or should I just give up already? I refuse to fall behind. My other classmates are hardly passing but are slipping by and I feel so embarrassed. Apparently I cant continue in my next Fundamentals class and clinical's until I pass this class which means I have to wait for the next session which is another 8 weeks from now. I'm not even sure what to do with myself right now I'm so frustrated. And even if I did wanna drop the class she gave the 3rd exam after the drop date giving everyone hope and then made the exam dumb hard. We have two professors and I met with one of them numerous times and I also went to tutoring so many times. SO my question of I do amazing on the Hesi which is our last exam for the class and get a score high in the 90s do you think it would be possible for me to talk to the dean or something and explain and prove I know the information so I can move on to the next part of the session?

First day of my REAL Nursing classes..scared ):
So I just got back from my first day of class. I am taking patho, health assessment and fundamentals. I already am loaded with so much work. I doubt I can do nursing school anymore. I'm afraid I'm going to fail and I already know I am not going to do well. Besides that I can't even find a pair of all white sneakers that actually look good. Half my books haven't even shipped to me yet so I can't even start reading or do homework. And on top of that my teacher said we will be practicing on each other as in looking at each others bodies (stomachs, armpits etc). I am so self conscious. I don't even wear a bathing suite let alone shorts. I'm just a shy person so how am I going to do this? ): Can I even refuse to do it? I have anxiety and I am already stressing. Is anyone else in the same boat as me? I just am really not feeling life right now and I've always wanted to be a nurse until all of this ):

Am I being realistic? Nursing school at 45?
If it makes you happy then do it. Remember you only have one life so live it to the fullest. I had a lady in my human development class is she was in her 50s and she said she was tired of sitting at a computer all day at work and wanted to be a nurse. She got accepted into the 2 year program at my community college at the time...its possible and youre not crazy! Many people want to do this and feel as you do and dont persue it...dont live with any regrets (:

Anatomy & Physiology (1 and 2) + Microbiology = SUMMER
If I were you I would switch the micro bio out. Micro bio is easy but requires lots of reading and studying and understanding. In my opinion A&P are one of the hardest classes. I had to drop 6 weeks in because I couldnt handle it with my other 3 classes. Its impossible. My teachers suggested when I was in the class to not take another science course and to take another easy course and if possible dont take anything at all. Its so time comsuming and hard. I would say take human dev instead. Its a really easy and fun class! Im finally staring nursing school this summer and taking A&P among 3 other classes so I will also have no life this summer...for the 3rd summer in a row ): Goodluck!

I just failed nursing school
I dont think you will get kicked out because of one class...doesnt it depend all on the gpa anyways? As long as you meet the required gpa youre fine! Why dont you try talking to your teacher and telling them how you feel...or academic advising..if you tell them your situation they might be able to help...they understand some people are bad test takers but know the material. Good luck! (:

Taking pictures of yourself in the hospital in uniform.
I agree with the person above it depends on what you were doing in those pictures or probably where..besides why would you want pictures like that?
