We have them everywhere here too...then again, I work in a psych facility.
ETA: sorry about that--for some reason I thought this post was listed under the "General Nursing" section. I didn't know it was under the LTC section...I think it's time for me to shut the computer down and head to bed :imbar
We had cameras at one building I ran. Half of them were fake. The other half was supposedly hooked up to video recorders to document everything going on. I called the ACLU and was told it was the owner's option and there was nothing we could do about it. We even had them in the break room. I found the whole thing to be degrading and insulting.
We all know cameras are everywhere, but for some reason in LTC they made you feel like a criminal and mgmt was so quick to remind us that they were always watching and waiting for nursing to screw up so they could screw up your life. It was one more insult thrown at LTC nurses. That whole mind-set in LTC was one of the major reasons I left.

thats the way they treat us at my job too. the DON is forever threatening "the administrator is watching!". so everynow and then....

The nursing home that I have worked in for several years just recently installed cameras at all the entrances, exits and all hallways. Anyone have cameras in their facility?
