Calling all Grand Canyon University Spring 2014 Hopefuls!!!

Published

Hey all! I wanted to created this thread in hopes of finding other Grand Canyon University (GCU) Spring 2014 hopefuls!! I am about to apply for the Fast-track 16 month BSN as a second degree student, either at Scottsdale Healthcare or GCU campus. The deadline for applications are September 15th, 2013... just a couple months away. If you are applying or thinking of applying, please join in and lets get this thread started! :) :geek: :nurse:

Good luck!

I've been lucky enough to meet 3 other people in a few of my classes who also got accepted to AT Still! Has anyone else met people in their current classes?

I'm taking Micro right now and the other pre-nursing students that I am aware of are either applying to ASU or the Maricopa programs, from what I know. I have a lot of non-nursing classmates, though (Dietitian, Lab tech, PT etc). Very interesting group!

FYI Scottsdale Healthcare Cohort:

I spoke with GCU at Shea campus today regarding the level 1 schedule. The director informed me that the current level 1 cohort has class usually 4-5 days per week starting at 8am typically and ending anywhere between 1-5pm. I asked if that schedule was similar to what they were planning for the Spring Level 1 & she said that yes so far it is expected to be about the same. I know this isn't very specific & I apologize. I'll definitely touch base with them again in a week or so to see if they can provide any further info, but figured I would pass along the little bit that I did get. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at the meeting :) my friend & I are planning lunch somewhere near by afterwards so maybe a few of you guys would wanna come along too & get to know each other a lil bit better too!

Thanks Andi for the new info!! Looking forward to hearing more! I would go to lunch after the meeting tomorrow but I have to get back to work :-/ ugh work problems! I am taking two hours off to go to the meeting though so I'm glad I was able to get that approved at least. See you tomorrow!

Andi thank you for posting the info, I wish I could join you guys for lunch but unfortunatly I too must return to work after the meeting. :( Maybe we can all plan a get together before classes start? Did they tell you if those times are just for lecture/ classroom or does that include clinical hours too? I can't wait 8am start time will seem like sleeping in! :)

Hello All,

I just applied to GCU. I will be finishing my pre-reqs spring of 2014 and applying to hopefully start the GCU Tucson program Fall 2014. I am happy to see some of your grades it makes me feel better about my 3.3. I just wanted to ask how long it took to know if you got accepted to the school initially.

If yall have any tips for going through the process, I would love if you shared LOL

Also, congrats to ALL OF YOU!!! Im excited just being able to apply to schools now. :-)
