  1. Best of luck! I've heard rumored that summer is the easiest session to get in to cuz most people don't want to start then. If you have any questions you think we might be able to help with feel free to ask away :)
  2. I'll butt in too and tell you guys that I BARELY had the 3.0 science GPA & got accepted for Spring '14 start so definitely don't be discouraged from trying. Also the admissions advisors are very helpful and honest. If they think you don't have a chance they'll tell you what to do to increase your chances of acceptance. Follow their advice :) best of luck to you all
  3. Hey Toy - Did you guys get your level 2 schedule yet? If so care to share so we have an idea of the future schedule for us this summer?
  4. Hope everyone is getting as excited as I am! I enjoyed orientation and getting to meet some more people!
  5. Awesome thanks! & yea I expected a lot of homework/papers outside of just studying haha. I'm generally pretty good at it but not a huge fan lol. Thankfully I'm used to military time thanks to charting at the hospital now :)
  6. Hey Toy, Any insight as to the workload for Level 1? I can't recall if you or someone else was the one who had told me that exams are only given for pharm & assessment courses and not the other two? Is this correct? Also how about writing papers? I know this is an accelerated BSN and my friends who have taken GCU RN-BSN bridge have had to write a good number of papers but curious as to how much of that is for block one. I ask for both curiosity but also as an idea of what kind of time I'll need outside of class as I'm also going to be fitting full time work in for the first semester at least. Thanks for all your help so far! I know I'm not alone in being grateful to have someone a step ahead of us giving thoughts and info to help us out :)
  7. Awesome MrsBond! I'm getting all my paperwork and such together as well. Looking forward to orientation, however not the fact that it's all the way across town for me during rush hour haha!
  8. No our site coordinator at SHC campus sent the email out. If you don't get it by end of the day tomorrow, I'd give a call directly to Boswell campus. Our location said they so schedules 8 weeks in advance so that would've been tomorrow so we actually received them two days early (on Thurs)
  9. For future applicants interested in our level one schedule here it is: (This is for SHC fast track 16 month BSN - 4 level program) Level One (starting Jan 7th and has total of 16 weeks which includes one week off for spring break) Tues: 9-11 & 12-2 Wed: 9-11 & 1-430 Thurs: 9-11 & 12-3 Fri: Lab Group A 9a-12p Lab Group B 1-4pm After the first 6 weeks or so we will also have lab on Mondays, same group and times as Friday lab. There are 4 classes for this level (all taken concurrently) Nursing Foundations Therapeutic Communication & Informatics Health Assessment (has lab portion, Fridays) Pharmacology (has lab portion, Mondays) Hope this helps give some insight for future people interested in applying. Btw just out of curiosity, if anyone from the other cohorts sees this is your schedule for level one the same?
  10. So far there is just an "affiliation" of the two networks. They have combined into one board but financial statements and such are separated. So far pay/benefits haven't been standardized among the two. They are however this year changing our calendar to match JCL (which has basically just affected when our online training modules need to be completed and such). I think it'll have some kinks needing worked out and there's always pros and cons to each situation, however I'm optimistic about it. The main goal in merging was to "block out Banner" from the NE area of Phoenix as well as to better provide preventative services and such and survive the changing of healthcare policy with ACA to my understanding :)
  11. FYI Scottsdale Healthcare Cohort: I spoke with GCU at Shea campus today regarding the level 1 schedule. The director informed me that the current level 1 cohort has class usually 4-5 days per week starting at 8am typically and ending anywhere between 1-5pm. I asked if that schedule was similar to what they were planning for the Spring Level 1 & she said that yes so far it is expected to be about the same. I know this isn't very specific & I apologize. I'll definitely touch base with them again in a week or so to see if they can provide any further info, but figured I would pass along the little bit that I did get. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at the meeting :) my friend & I are planning lunch somewhere near by afterwards so maybe a few of you guys would wanna come along too & get to know each other a lil bit better too!
