Hey guy!
First off, Congrats on making it this far. Now we are onto probably the hardest part of this process. Of course school will be harder but will deal with that when we get there. :)
So let's start off with all introducing ourselves
Where are you from?
What type of program are you applying for? (ADN, BSN, MSN etc...)
Are you applying for spring or fall?
What you going to do while you wait? (Besides check your email/mailbox every 10 seconds)
Anything your doing to prepare yourself for what's coming ahead?
Let the wait begin
Helllo Beachbedhead!!!!
Must say, Great thread you have going on....:)
Where are you from? I am from Michigan but currently residing in Memphis, TN
What type of program are you applying for? (ADN, BSN, MSN etc...) Accelerated BSN
Are you applying for spring or fall? Fall 2012
What you going to do while you wait? (Besides check your email/mailbox every 10 seconds) I am finishing my pre-reqs as well as preparing for TEAS V(which I plan to take in December) so that I can apply for nursing school by February:)
Anything your doing to prepare yourself for what's coming ahead? I am keeping my eye on the prize, which is just staying Focused and Pray and know that I will have my ultimate dream of becoming a Nurse...
The spring of 2012 will be my last semester of pre-reqs and I will also take the HESI A2. By the summer of 2012, I will have a completed application into an ADN program, which also has an RN-BSN program. At that point the wait will begin. I don't imagine I will begin nursing school, however, until 2013.
In the meantime, I will take nursing co-reqs and any classes I might need for my BSN in the future. I'll probably take a CNA class and TRY to find work and/or I will volunteer.
Best wishes to all applicants!
I will be able to apply nov-jan to ADN programs. I am finishing up my last semester of core and required stuff fall semester. I will take more bsn core in the spring. I have taken all university level classes so that getting my BSN will go smoother. It seems longer this way but if your goal is to have a bsn than it makes sense. I know a lot of people stuck retaking core classes at a university bcoz they took their core at a trade school. It happened to me. It is hard to type on my nook here but i hope we all get in to the summer programs. When is everyone taking the hesi a2? Im thinking nov. Oh. How do u get into a bsn program having not completed ur adn? I read some of u were applying to bsn programs....without an adn?
Hey Bunchies...You don't have to have an ADN before the BSN. The difference is that they are doing the full 4yrs including pre-reqs at a larger university for their BSN. I'm doing it the other way which is 2yrs ADN at a CC then hopefully start working as an RN while finishing the BSN at the larger school. In the end we will all be BSN RN's, we just will have taken different paths to get there!!! Hope this helps
Hi Everyone!!!
I'm from Philadelphia, but I moved down to Richmond VA so I could live with my parents, , while I began my pursuit of a nursing career.
I'm currently a student at John Tyler CC, and I'm applying today for their spring admission.
While I wait I am finishing up my co reqs, and getting some classes out of the way that I need for a BSN. I willl also be taking care of my two beautiful children, and looking for a phlebotomy job(part time of course!) I asked my counselor when we should be receiving the yay or nay, so I won't be constantly checking the mail until October, lol!
I'm doing a lot of hoping and wishing to prepare for the admissions process, lol. However, I am preparing myself for the spring semester by trying to figure out a possible schedule, and attempting to stay calm. I also do things to build up my confidence, and prepare myself for the best! I'm super pumped!
I wish the best for everyone! Good luck!
