Calling All 2012 Nursing Applicants!
I will be able to apply nov-jan to ADN programs. I am finishing up my last semester of core and required stuff fall semester. I will take more bsn core in the spring. I have taken all university level classes so that getting my BSN will go smoother. It seems longer this way but if your goal is to have a bsn than it makes sense. I know a lot of people stuck retaking core classes at a university bcoz they took their core at a trade school. It happened to me. It is hard to type on my nook here but i hope we all get in to the summer programs. When is everyone taking the hesi a2? Im thinking nov. Oh. How do u get into a bsn program having not completed ur adn? I read some of u were applying to bsn programs....without an adn?

I quit in the middle of my shift....
No I didn't read all of it. I just figured it was more of the same. I just felt like I was being virtually stoned. Mentally stressed does sound better than mental break down. No particular buzzards. I usually participate in forums where trolling is the norm, so forgive me for firing back with such a defensive attitude. I don't normally go off on people like that. It just hurt my feelings for some reason. Maybe I was afraid that I was being judged by people in a profession I look up to. Got my feelings hurt as soon as I stuck my foot in the water for the first time. heh. I'm over it.

I quit in the middle of my shift....
OH get off of my case. So I could have used a better choice of words. There are many different levels of mental stress. I never diagnosed her. I suggested what may and probably did happen to her. Mental breakdown (also known as a nervous breakdown) is a non-medical term used to describe an acute, time-limited phase of a specific disorder that presents primarily with features of depression or anxiety. Or maybe she just had good old fashion anxiety. Call it whatever you want. It sounds to me like this MAY POSSIBLY have happened on some undetermined level. Mental break down isn't black/white or like you say in your example .45Rifle/cupcakes. There are many different areas. SOMETHING caused this woman to walk out and it probably wasn't because she was a crappy nurse.(based on the fact she signed off). Last time I checked I was offering her advice, not any of you. If I'm completely off base, well, she simply does not have to take my advice. This was my first time posting here and I KNEW I would catch some slack from the buzzards. I don't really care, my focus is not on the other posters. I just wanted to suggest something to this poor lady. A lady left my job and didn't sign off and our charge nurse ( rest her soul ) went to her house and calmed her down. This was three years ago and she is one of the best nurses they have. THINGS HAPPEN. I am not diagnosing anything. I was suggesting something based on a possible assumption.

Did you have a physics section on your HESI A2 entrance exam?
I have not heard of anyone anywhere needing the physics section. Perhaps they just stick stuff in there to make the book appear thicker? lol

I quit in the middle of my shift....
I have walked out of a job before half way through a shift. It wasn't a job in the health field but I know how bad it feels. I can imagine how awful you must feel after you had time to cool off. Yes, you should have stuck out the shift and put your notice in but you can't beat yourself up over that. You WILL find another job. People have mental breakdowns and they snap. We are human just like our patients. I think you should go in and speak with the nurse manager and let her know that is just what happened. Ask her for a chance to work out your remaining weeks and maybe just say that you left your shift (sick) instead. If you just did this I doubt she put the papers thru yet. It is worth a try. If you at least act sorry they may have better things to say about you in the future. Good luck. This is tough situation.

I do not think that it is on the test but there is a section for it in the hesi book. I have no clue why.
