I agree that this vaccine is highly politicized. But conservatives are not the only one at fault for it. Dr. Fauci and local healthcare officials have given off very inconsistent messaging and the confidence of the public falls with each misstep. I do not agree with mandates in general. We need to educate and help people make informed decisions. Mandating someone (adults especially) is not the way to gain their trust or confidence. The CDC is very much partial to their own political ties and it shows. The professionalism of many healthcare professionals has hit the floor.

Thank you for that.  This is the part that frustrates me most is people who strongly support everyone take the vaccine refuse to consider a reasonable argument such as yours.  There are those Q-Anon types out there who can't be reasoned with and are definitely making things worse. They frustrate me too.  There are those who offer points like yourself that can be intellectually debated with exchanges of factual information.  Instead they call you selfish.  Being insulting stops people from listening to one another.

Unvaccinated health professionals aren't listening to the accountable experts of record.  They are making choices based on fears, fabrications and flawed opinions.

You replied more than once, and I'll try to cover your concerns from all.

I've stated more than once, there are those that argue against the vaccine with no concrete evidence to support their argument.  I don't support them and recognize their minds may not be changed.

There are some who have factual evidence (fetal cells) that you and many may feel is not a good enough reason to decline vaccination.  That is a disagreement. Fair enough.

There are those who have doubts, and are hesitant about the vaccine.  These are the people I'm advocating for and trying to encourage fellow health professionals from discouraging them from considering the vaccine by having people, especially medical professionals, label them as "selfish" among other things.

This is what I see happening in our profession.  People being verbally abusive because someone has a different perspective or viewpoint they can't relate to or agree with.  They engage in character assassination ending the possibility for exchanging information and understanding one another.

So MY CONTRIBUTION that you keep calling for, in this instance, is not to recite CDC data rather to do something that indeed is very important and which is to promote respectful communication! We do this all the time in our profession don't we?

I'll make it extremely simple

I encourage everyone with dissenting views to be respectful of each other and educate when possible.  Help me understand what moves you to continue arguing with me against this idea.

Reading your reply to me makes me think that you haven’t understood a single word I’ve said. English is my fourth language, but come on! It’s not that bad.

I haven’t been arguing against that idea. Not once. I’ve been very clear about the fact that it’s not the when possibles of this world I’ve been discussing.

I heard your opinion the first, second and nth time you shared them. But I will keep on posting the way I do. I provide facts and data and answer questions if I can when I think it might make a difference. When I don’t think it will make a difference, I don’t bother.

English is my first language and I've used it quite well.  I assure you the feeling was mutual regarding your challenges to understand and your x amount of rebuttals.

Your last paragraph gives hope that my point finally hit home.  Give information when you think it might make a difference or not bother.  That's what I was saying the whole time.  Unfortunately not everyone follows that.  They give information and persist with derogatory comments.

Your single point was never misunderstood.  You are the member who seemingly doesn't understand that my goal and objective is not to try to educate those who don't trust science, data and evidence.  Maybe your reading comprehension is troubled or maybe you simply can't accept what you don't agree with. I dunno and frankly, it doesn't matter. Your opinion of my posting style is irrelevant to me.  I'm done engaging with your feelings about my posts, they don't change anything and they certainly don't address the covidiocy shared in these threads.

Your arrogance is impressive. Your point didn’t finally hit home. I have the same opinions as I did when we started this conversation. I have always tried to be helpful to posters when I think they are genuinely looking for information. You haven’t changed a thing. I suspect that what you consider derogatory comments is what I call calling out nonsense and lies. I don’t really know how to say this without sounding rude, but I’m not interested in what you think about the way I post. Some of my posts will annoy some posters and some of my posts will be informative and be appreciated by some posters. I’m fine with that and don’t want or need any pointers from you.

I suspected you were just trolling and now I know.

The antivaxxers don't have access to some secret information or data that should be cause for vaccine refusal.  The vaccines are safe and effective.

Can we please post like adults?

BTW, though English may be her 4th language, she writes better than almost every single person posting on this thread. I've been on this board for a long time, and I have marveled at her fluency. Most people in the US can barely speak one language, much less four or more.

Ironically I never accused you specifically of anything yet you defend yourself.  If you don't identify with the behavior of those I described in general, what moves you to justify anything?

I'm not being arrogant.  I was "calling out nonsense" when YOU initiated a reply to my post.

Your commentary has been appreciated.  Enjoy the rest of your day!

We sure can! How many languages she speaks and her mastery of the English language was not challenged or relevant to the discussion.

Unfortunately, it took emoticons to get a poster who was calling people selfish, crazy, and dense to finally stop posting long after giving her a polite salutation.

Thank you.
