2010 - UCSF / Stanford RN Residency Interview?

U.S.A. California

Published

Hey,

I applied for RN residencies at both UCSF and Stanford during the week of May 10th, 2010. I wanted to hear from anyone who has applied to either program AND has been contacted by a recruiter. Or from anyone who knows for certain (i.e., you work there) when theses decisions will be made. I am a fairly strong candidate and would like to believe I am in the running for a position--but who knows really? I will post if and when I hear anything.

Best of luck.

hi everyone,

FYI- i applied to only LPCH and got a phone interview on 5/25 and my status went from "unknown" to "selected for interview" a day later. Does anyone else have the same status as me?

mine says "in process". did yours ever say that?

Did anyone else receive an email from UCSF?

sim007: would you mind sharing when you received the email?

thanks

No..it never said in process. It just went form "unknown" to "selected for interview"

Hey icuuci,

I received the email a few days ago on June 2nd. According to an earlier post on this thread, ucsf is supposed to contact applications in early June. Hopefully, u will get an email too.

mine says "in process". did yours ever say that?

Hi,

my status changed to application in review as of 6/14... Did yours change too?

What floor are you having your interview at ucsf on?

Hi,

yup, that's what mine says too

For UCSF, I hadn't heard from them in a while and then on 6/10 I got a response that said:

"Thanks for your inquiry regarding the UCSF Medical Center RN Training Programs. We have completed our prescreening of applicants. We received over 700 applicants for the 16 openings. Competitive candidates have been sent to the various managers for interview consideration. We will be interviewing June 8 to June 25 based on availability of the managers. Hiring decisions will be made by the end of the month. If you have not heard back from us by the end of June you can make the assumption that you were not selected to interview. Unfortunately the large number of applicants preclude us from contact everyone directly to advise them of their status. Best of luck!"

I was devastated since interviews had started and I hadn't heard anything. Then an hour later they emailed me saying I had an interview (panel, like the others had mentioned). Mine's not until the end of June.

For STANFORD, it took some finagling to get my references in since my school uses an online credentials service so I never have the actual files to upload them to an app, but it did get done and I didn't hear from THEM for a while either. My status was still "incomplete," then they emailed me yesterday saying they were just behind on the processing and that I was now "in process" and ready for a prescreen interview.

So basically, don't give up hope yet, they're still getting back to people. Good luck everyone!

Theviv-

Did you e-mail the recruiter and then got the message you received on 6/10 or was it automatically sent to you? Also, do you mind telling me which floor are you interviewing for? Congrats on the interview!

Yeah, I did email the recruiters on 5/28 and got both responses 6/10.

And I'm interviewing at Mount Zion on a med/surg (possibly onc, maybe 5E/W, I didn't have a pen when she told me).

My status for LPCH changed today to "Sorry, not selected." :( Oh well!

My interview with ucsf was last Tuesday. The wait is killing me. Has anyone received an acceptance or denial yet?
