California Health Corps

Nurses COVID

Published

Haven't seen a any posts about the California Health Corps.

Did anyone register for this?

Thoughts?

Any information on when we will hear back or when people would be "deployed"?

I am an RN student due to graduate in May. I'm wondering if they will still take students even though it sounds like at least 25k licensed professionals applied.

Stay safe everyone!

Hi! I am also a RN student that will graduate in May also. I applied when this came out and the only thing I have gotten an email about is the Volunteer thing that I checked. Other than that I have not received anything. From what I’m understanding is that I think they want to recruit licensed professionals first before they recruit nursing students. I go to SDSU and they also emailed that if we do this we would be considered an independent volunteer and would ultimately have to get our own and volunteer at our own risk.

Following .

I did the same thing. The different thing from my side is , I do have RN license but not in CA. But I live in CA because my school located here. So far I didn't hear anything from them yet. they did sent me a confirm email . Other than that , nothing shows up yet.

Also I accidentally hit the "PULSE'' button, not sure if this could change something.

Anyways, Good luck to us. If anything shows up, let's share with each other.

Thanks

Hey everyone,

I registered the first day and have my CA license. I'm a new grad though. I haven't been given any more information. The only thing that has changed is that my license has been "verified" on my account.

Has anyone gotten any other updates on the CA Health Corps? I got info last week that my license was confirmed, and that I needed to submit an application on the CalCareers website. I submitted that last week, but got a call from the CA Health Corps again to submit the Cal Careers website. Just wondering if anyone has been "deployed" yet or also in the same boat.

I received an email from them this morning. I just completed "STEP 3" of the process and completed the additional online application and upload the onboarding documents on the Cal Careers website. I guess I'm in the same boat as you at this point. I'm hoping I hear from them next week.

I am a nursing student graduating next month. My profile still has not been verified, and I set it up about three weeks ago. I reached out asking if I was missing anything and this is what they responded:

"The credential verification process typically takes up to 24 hours, but currently we anticipate the process may take between two and 14 days from when you registered. We are unable to provide you with an exact time frame at this time; however, we are verifying licenses and processing registrations as fast as possible as they come in. We will begin to contact volunteers after verification of credentials, and based on current and anticipated needs. If you are located in Sacramento, Yolo, El Dorado, or Placer County, notifications have been sent out for licensed medical professionals with verified licenses to complete an application for employment through Cal-HR. If you are a licensed medical professional in one of those counties and have not received this notification, please log-in to DHV to check your messaging system. If you are a licensed medical professional located in another county, requests to complete an application will be sent out as soon as possible. If you are not licensed in California, a student, or a professional in a non-medical field, applications may be sent out at a later date, based upon current needs.

COVID-19 Response Team"

Hopefully this helps w any confusion!

Hi All, I also completed “step 3” of the process and applied on the CalCareers website. Has anyone heard anything more?

Not yet! Hopefully this week.

My RN License # continues to say failure in the system. I have emailed them several times with no luck in them fixing it. Has anyone else had this issue and found a way to get it fixed?
