BSN program @ UFV September 2014 Intake

Published

Hello,

I have just completed my application for the BSN program at UFV for the September 2014 Intake. I thought I would start this thread for anyone wanting to share their thoughts, ask some questions etc. The deadline is fast approaching! As far as I know interviews take place in March and decisions usually are done in May. I have a sister who is in fourth semester at UFV and is loving it! She found this site very helpful while going through the application process as it tends to be a long one!

Um, I just received a letter from UFV stating that my application to the BSN LPN access program is now completed and it is in position to be considered for the fall semester... Lol. And it was dated as March 7th. Huh? I was sick to my stomach when I saw a letter from UFV but now I am more confused than ever! Maybe LPN applicants have a different process and process time? I was having stressful palpitations and thought that my heart was going to explode! Well, I hope this gave some of you good laughs. You guys sound amazing and so are your academic grades. Just sit back and wait patiently :)

Good morning ladies and gents? Any gentlemen?

So it turns out that my application process timeline is different from the regular BSN application process timelime. I spoke to the program advisor this morning and due to the differences in application requirements and other factors, LPN applicants' information session letters won't be mailed out until later in March. But UFV will send letters all the applicsnts (both BsN and LPN access) whether they are invited to the information session or not. Hey, no news is good news. I hope we will all here a good news soon :)

I was waiting for the right time to chime in. To answer your question bkimm88, I am a gentlemen but not everyone might think that, lol. I have read every post on here, and I have also read every post for the past couple years as well. Obsess much ? I only obsess and stress out about it because it is something that I want just as bad as everyone on this site does. I just joined this site today, and I am glad that we have this. kbevans56, I would be honest about the psychiatric assistance due to temporary insomnia because I believe they will look at the type of person you have become not what happened in the past. Also, I am almost 100% positive that they could type in your name on a hospital computer and get your complete medical history. So, there is no sense trying to hide what has already happened. I am sure you are a great person now, and I am also sure you were a great person when you were battling some issues during your teenage years. Thank you Brianne 17 for starting this thread. I hope we all get accepted and get to do what we set out to do with our lives.

Thanks toretto for the encouraging words, its much appreciated. I hope they think like you!

kbevans56, I also have my information session on Mar.19. Your welcome for the encouraging words. This is my first time applying. Is this your first time applying as well ? Anyone else on here going to the information session on Mar.19 ?

Hey guys and gals, another update:

talked to Health Sciences just now (10:10am on Thursday) and they said that she (you know who) has not sent out the second batch of info letters yet but she will be before 4pm today or if not today by tomorrow. Also, they can't tell us how many applicants there are at tho point but you will be told at the info session.

OK awesome! I can now justify checking my email every four minutes :) Good luck to all!! Going to be a looong day!

Thank you Meghan111 - I had emailed to ask if there is for sure a second info session a few days ago and found out I am going to be away for it:( Congrats to you guys that have a letter and good luck to those of you who don't YET!! *fingers crossed!

Yes, this is also my first time applying. I have applied to other schools as well but really hope UFV works out, its close to home and would make things a lot easier!

This this anyone's second/third time applying? If so, what are the info session questions like? Is there any way to prepare for them?

This is my second time...and from what I have heard and know from last year the questions are always a variation on a theme. One of them asks what you would do if you knew a classmate was cheating. Another one had to do with how you've had to deal with confidentiality issues, another one was describe a time where you had a conflict with co-workers/ fellow volunteers or supervisors, and how you handled it. Nothing I am sure we all haven't seen before by this point of life. It is hard with the classmate cheating one, and a few others, because I felt like I had to give a "right" answer, but now, I'm not too sure how much it has to do with the specific answer. I think it has to do with how well you explain your reasoning; they want to see those critical thinking skills at work!

Great, thank you! Any advice on preparing for it?
