BSN program @ UFV September 2014 Intake

Hello,

I have just completed my application for the BSN program at UFV for the September 2014 Intake. I thought I would start this thread for anyone wanting to share their thoughts, ask some questions etc. The deadline is fast approaching! As far as I know interviews take place in March and decisions usually are done in May. I have a sister who is in fourth semester at UFV and is loving it! She found this site very helpful while going through the application process as it tends to be a long one!

Apparently only the first batch has been sent out and the other batch for the second info session will probably be sent out next week.

I called today to confirm that my reference form was included with my application and I was told that I have a letter sent to me today and if I don't get it today I will get it on Monday. I am kind of nervous to find out what it is :/

Nothing over here either! Really hoping there is actually a second batch of letters. Going to be a long weekend! Meghan11 where did you hear about that? About there being 2 batches of emails?

I talked to health sciences. She said that the 2nd batch of applicants will be notified next week. :( super stressed now :*(

If I don't at least get as far as the information session, I may jump off something very tall...

I also received my letter for the information session on March 19th. Is that when everybody else's is?

In the email with the info session details I also got the health questionnaire included and it has me a bit worried.... It asks iif you have ever been hospitalized or received any form of psychiatric help. During my teenage years I received psychiatric assistance due to temporary insomnia, it was forever ago but I am afraid they will see that I checked yes and think I am not emotionally capable of handling the program (which I believe I am prepared for whatever they throw my way). Does anyonehave any experience with this? It has me very concerned.

Does anybody have any idea how many complete applicants there are? Like even a ballpark range?

Hi Meghan,

Unfortunately I have not YET to receive any letter from UFV but I have my fingers crossed that I will this week :) Have you heard anything from school?

I forget the username who asked about number of applicants but I'm pretty sure that there got to be minimum of 300 applicants for regular and fast track programs. There were over 100 applicants for 6 seats in LPN access to BSN last year.

Still nothing... Here's a question for all the first time applicants:

if you don't get in will you keep plugging away until you do get in? Or is this torture enough to last you a lifetime?

Nothing for me either. Has anyone received a letter from the second group yet? Meghan111 I for sure will keep on trying :) don't give up anyone! :)
