BSN program @ UFV September 2014 Intake

Hello,

I have just completed my application for the BSN program at UFV for the September 2014 Intake. I thought I would start this thread for anyone wanting to share their thoughts, ask some questions etc. The deadline is fast approaching! As far as I know interviews take place in March and decisions usually are done in May. I have a sister who is in fourth semester at UFV and is loving it! She found this site very helpful while going through the application process as it tends to be a long one!

Hey guys I got a letter this morning basically saying that I'm in a position to be considered for the fall 2014 intake but it doesn't have any information on the info night or interviews. Did anyone receive this letter as well?!

I think that would just be the "complete" status letter that states you have met all the requirements to be considered? That's what it sounds like to me

Hello,

Since reading Meghan's mishaps, I was worried about any screw ups with my application so I called school on Monday and I heard back from ****...this afternoon. Apparently there have been screw ups with my application and she was not seeing my application at all for the September intake! My heart literally sunk and I felt so sick. I explained to her that I had an active application from last year and Health science program advisor, assisted me with completing the application process, including updating required documents. She then explain that UFV has switched their computer system this year and that may be why she wasn't seeing any record of my application for 2014 and other admin mishaps. She at least added my application into the new system so now I can see the application status online and it says that my application is 'ready for review by program'. I hope the once she receives all my documents from health science department, there won't be anymore screw ups!

I feel like I aged twenty years during my twenty minute phone call... I couldn't sleep since then, even though I was from a 12hr night shift. I forgot to ask her when applicants will hear from school regarding info session and such but *** told me earlier that "[we] should hear by mid to late March with regards to the next phase of the application process and there are a lot of applications for the faculty to consider...". So let the waiting game continues and we pull out our hair! Haha fingers crossed for all of us

Lol ok not that I'm happy any of you are going nuts also, but whew! I just yesterday got my letter stating that I'm a complete applicant. I didn't get an email stating the same though nor has my "ready for review by program" status changes on the website. I was asked to send over my own ID documents as well because they just weren't being sent over from the Abby campus.

Im so happy we are all keeping each other informed. Whoever gets a info session invite first, make sure you tell us all! Lol I'm dying over here!

kkr12 _ That is a letter just stating they have all your info and you are a complete applicant. Which is a good thing considering all the problems people have been having) I have a feeling there are a ton of applicants because I got my letter probably 3 weeks ago!! (only to say I'm a complete applicant - nothing more!) lol

I can't believe we may have until the end of March to find out about the info session!! That's SO far away!!

Kim and Megan - So glad for you both that you got things figured out!! Now the waiting game....

Why so many applicants?? Whyy?? :(

There were 180 the year my sister got in!!! I suspect there are more now - and that's why things have changed up so much! Hope I'm wrong

After reading all this and hearing that you got a letter stating that your application is complete worries me. Online I my status is "Application is Ready for Review" however I am not sure anymore. This application process is making me crazy hahaha

I spoke with M***** and she promised she personally mailed my complete applicant letter lol. Still waiting for it in the mail but not really worried about it. I just want to know how many applicants actually end up at information sessions. They have to cut it down to at least 100 right? Anymore is kinda ludicrous....

Neverland,

You've spoke to M*****?

Last year, I was told over 100 people applied for LPN access to BSN and over 400 for BSN..!

I just got in the mail today that they haven't received my Volunteer/Work Experience in a Health Care Setting.... Which I sent in quite a few months ago. Now I'm in a panic, hopefully this does not have any consequences on my application.
