U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone!

This is a thread for anyone applying for the January 2012 class at Broward college for the generic nursing track. July 16th was the date to start applying and I believe it closes sometime in October. How many points does everyone have? I had to defer my seat so I will be starting in January for sure at north campus! :D if I can be of any help with questions pertaining to getting in or the HESI I will be glad to help! Good luck everyone!!

I applied to the north campus and I am anxiously waiting to find out if I have been accepted. Stressful.... I check the website at least twice a day.

@ Sweething24...Thanks hun!...I made an appointment for next week...I definately remember that the deadline is on the 15th...not worried about it too much...I'm definately going to pass it this time...the thing is, my focus was on AP and math.

What classes are you taking now?

i was doing the same after i applied but you will get tired of it since you wont know if you get accepted til 2 to 3 weeks after the closing date. they told me to start checking around oct 15. but hey do what make you happy ! do you mind sharing your Gpa and hesi scores ?

soon2benurse , i am taking micro+lab , Mat 1033. if i on get accepted i ll go for respiratory care . you have to have a plan b. what about you , what are u taking ?

Don't think I mentioned my GPA..."A's" in AP 1&2 lecture and lab..."A" in Enc1101..."B" in Chem1032...based on my calculation, my GPA is 3.78

@ Sweething24...taking Micro+Lab, Statistics, World Geography and Human Growth.

My gpa 2.7 and i dont remember my hesi scores exactly because I took it a while ago. My lowest score was 76 in a&p and highest was 90 in math. I got somewhere in the 80's for other section. I know not that great but we will see how it goes. :)

Also, I have 2.8 in pre reqs.

I didn't pass the anatomy part. :( I'm retaking it next week. Has anyone on here taken the hesi a2 version 2? If anyone can offer me some advice it would be great help. Thanks in advance.

Cary,

Some advice, when you retake it, its pretty much the same exact questions. So if you can remember all the questions they asked study that. ALSO- if you sign on to the website that gives you your test score (I think its elsiever- or something like that)- you can click on your test score and it will show you everything you got wrong (this will also help you remember the questions) and it will tell you the type of question it was, some study notes, and then you can go back in your book and do a little refresher. That website is extremely helpful. Good luck and let us know how you did! :)

Is the vocab medical terminology? Will the hesi practice book on campus help me?

I took version 1 last time & have to take version 2 this time. Are you sure it will be the same? I went to the elsevier website & went through what I got wrong. If this is true then I hope I can pass. Ive been so stressed cause anatomy was my lowest part. In math 98 grammar 98 reading 93 & vocabulary 78 (I'm retaking it as well.) Thanks for the info! Great help.

The vocab I thought was very similar to the hesi book. I had a couple that weren't from there but it was similar.

I just thought of another question.

Do you guys know if it really takes up to 2 weeks for Elsevier to send your results to broward? Unfortunately like I said before I didn't pass the anatomy part so I'm retaking it next week but that doesn't leave 2 weeks cause the deadline is September 15.

Also, What campuses are you guys applying to? Have you heard anything good about specific campuses?

My fiance goes to Nova so I'm considering applying to central cause we might move to that area. Anyone heard anything about central campus?

I'm soooo nervous!! :uhoh21:

Congrats to those who have everything submitted & accounted for.

I'm freaking out cause I have a 3.0 pre-req GPA. I hope to do great on anatomy next week so that at least that gives me a boost. I don't have HOSA & i'm not a broward resident. :crying2:
