Did anyone already turn in there applications for Fall 2009 @ B.C.? because I am turning mine in next week before the deadline and now I have to wait AGAIN and keep continually looking at my e-mail and the myBC account for the Limited Access Program everyday hopefully I get in THIS TIME being my 3rd time :yeah:

What campus are you at? You don't have Return Demo reattempts? At north campus, if we fail something on our return demo, we have to come back on the reattempt day and do that skill over.

I agree, its a lot of reading, and rereading. So far, most of the instructors are nice.

Good luck to you. I hope things get better at your campus.

I'm at South. Yes we get a second attempt, but I think it's the reason why he failed that made us all feel reallllly bad. :(

I think we may have it a lot harder down here at South.

Why'd he fail??

Why'd he fail??

And what happens if someone fails their reattempt? I know they would have to drop the clinical, but does that count as your one failure? Or does that only pertain to theory classes?

He didnt get one of the VS within 2. We all know the "within 2" rule and that he messed up, but it just really sucked to be out before you really even get to start. Thats why we felt so bad.

On a lighter note, I passed my math test today!

My math test is tomorrow, but I already know people who took it today and failed. I also know a ton of people who have to do their return demo reattempts and we still have Tuesday to finish up the first return demos.

Also, from what it sounds like, Central seems to be having a lot of people failing the lecture exams, which really stinks. Hope South is doing better. Seems like a lot of people are passing lecture at North so far.

I passed my test too. Thank god!! that is out of the way. Now I just have to focus on Pharm Nursing Lecture and Nursing Clinical.

I have my first pharm test tomorrow night! I've been studying so much for nursing lecture that I am just now starting to study for pharm.

What campus do you go to again, futurenurse?

I go to south how about you? How are you studying for lecture? For me, reading the chapter doesnt help. I am to just do nlclex questions about the topics on the test.

I go to North. Basically, I do the reading on the topic for each lecture before the lecture. At lecture, I write notes, and then what I do is type out the objectives (from the module we bought in the bookstore) onto a word doc, and then I answer them with mostly the info from my lectures and I add to it some info from the book. Then I use that to study from for the test.

So how is your class doing as a whole on the test(s)? I haven't heard anything about south, but it sounds like central is struggling, so I was curious to see how south is. I think my professor is fantastic about the info she provides in her lectures and she really gives you a lot of tools, so its really on us to make sure we study and put in the effort and the work to pass. We can never blame it on her if we don't.

How's your pharmacology going? We had our first test last night. Funny, it seemed WAY harder than my nursing process test, but I didn't do too bad (got an 82) considering I only studied for about an hour and a half before the test.

as a former bc (back then bcc) student, the best and most helpful advice i received from a student in semesters ahead of me, was to get the book 'saunders comprehensive review for nclex-rn', and study that along with the lecture book and of course, practice questions after reading. and also make sure to read the 'box's that are in each chapter! and I am telling you, if you sit down and focus and study and do all that, you will make it to the end!

throughout the semesters, I bought the reviews and rationales books and those helped me as well-

wish you all fall 2009 students the best!!

Hey Bumblebee,

I'm at South right now. Yes, Dean Quinn is still there. I just gave the EXACT same advice to one of the generic students. There is no way I can comprehend reading hundreds of pages. So I told her to focus on all the info at the end of each chapter, the NCLEX questions in the book and those in the study guide, the practice exams and activity questions (that one professor in particular gives), and the Saunders NCLEX questions AND rationales (only questions pertaining to exam topics).

So far it has worked for me for all but one exam, which is the second test in GI/GU. We just took it Friday. Out of about 38 of us, the MAJORITY got below the required 73% (a first for most of us). Not sure where those questions came from. We had heard it was this professor's hardest exam. But it was still shocking for that many of us not to have passed.

As a matter of fact, right before the exam one of my friends said to us, "I heard that last semester only 2 people passed this exam." I told him that the person who told him that had to have been exaggerating. Then about an hour after the test when we looked up our grades, I ate my words. LOL

But for the most part, the above advice you gave works for most exams (so far).
