Did anyone already turn in there applications for Fall 2009 @ B.C.? because I am turning mine in next week before the deadline and now I have to wait AGAIN and keep continually looking at my e-mail and the myBC account for the Limited Access Program everyday hopefully I get in THIS TIME being my 3rd time
Hey Bumblebee,I'm at South right now. Yes, Dean Quinn is still there. I just gave the EXACT same advice to one of the generic students. There is no way I can comprehend reading hundreds of pages. So I told her to focus on all the info at the end of each chapter, the NCLEX questions in the book and those in the study guide, the practice exams and activity questions (that one professor in particular gives), and the Saunders NCLEX questions AND rationales (only questions pertaining to exam topics).
So far it has worked for me for all but one exam, which is the second test in GI/GU. We just took it Friday. Out of about 38 of us, the MAJORITY got below the required 73% (a first for most of us). Not sure where those questions came from. We had heard it was this professor's hardest exam. But it was still shocking for that many of us not to have passed.
As a matter of fact, right before the exam one of my friends said to us, "I heard that last semester only 2 people passed this exam." I told him that the person who told him that had to have been exaggerating. Then about an hour after the test when we looked up our grades, I ate my words. LOL
But for the most part, the above advice you gave works for most exams (so far).
wow! Its not an easy program, but not impossible either. Just make sure that you study super hard, and do not go a day without studying! you will have your break once the semester is over!
Thanks BumbleBee. My friend just gave me this book about 3 weeks ago. I'm going to study from it for my next test. Any other suggestions?
believe me, it's the best book to have!
you will use it from process 1 all the way to the end, exept that last class-- which is the most easiest class you will have, that has nothing to do with medical jargon, exept for advice on proffessionalism, taking care of your license, and a group project, and your clinical of course, where you will shadow an RN
when you get the book, you look up the topic in the back of the book, and then you read it if it's your topic discussed in class.
it's an essential book.
reviews and rationales are other books that i absolutely love when studying for classes, they were recommended by fiu to study for the exelsior exams, so that is what i will study for them!

read read and more reading! for process 1 & 2, definitely read every word of every page, literally.
for the other classes, I read the topics discussed in class-- then after reading lecture book, I went to my saunder's book and read it there and did questions there or from another nclex-rn question book
I'm at north, and it doesn't seem like a lot are failing because we still have a big class (people dropped after the first test). However, Next Monday we have our final and we start Nursing Process 2 next Friday. I can let you know better then how many made it through to give you an idea.
I will say this, compared to what I've heard from friends, I think the professor at North gives you the information you need to pass, you just have to put in the time and the work to use that information.
Congrats and good luck!
Just got accepted into Jan 2010.Where should I go North or Central?
North Students are a lot of students failing?
Central Students same questions?
I have 3 kids and want to make the best choice for campus. I live right in the middle of both.
Thanks
Even back when I was a student in south campus, I always heard nice things about north campus, If I were close to it I would of chosen that campus.
north
Okay, so I am applying for May 2010. I live five to seven minutes from Central Campus and my kids go to school in that area. If I am going to stay sane while doing nursing school with three kids, I HAVE to go to Central. Any tips on how to survive it? I am now thoroughly scared after reading all the threads.
I plan to keep my mouth shut, not contest any test questions, stay under the radar, and study as much as possible. Will I come out unscathed? Is it really that bad?
