Bring back our childhood diseases!

Published

The wife of White House communications chief Bill Shine said Wednesday that childhood diseases such as measles “keep you healthy & fight cancer.”

In a series of tweets echoing anti-vaccination views she’s espoused publicly for years, Darla Shine lamented the fact her children had received the MMR vaccine, which guards against measles, mumps and rubella. She added that people of her generation – the Baby Boomers – were healthier now because they had measles as children.

“I had the #Measles #Mumps #ChickenPox as a child and so did every kid I knew – Sadly my kids had #MMR so they will never have the life long natural immunity I have,” Shine tweeted, adding, “Come breathe on me!”

Ok, this lady has a screw loose. Why would someone say that in public?

I would say if you polled most anti vaxxers..they would be ignorant liberals. Good try at a Trump jab though.

Anti-vaxxers come from all political views. The New York outbreak and the Washington state outbreak both started in conservative, religious communities.

It is both sides. The liberal side is the "I don't want any toxins in my body" type (since potentially fatal diseases aren't toxins, but natural, I guess) and on the "conservative" (no clue what they think they are conserving) side, they don't want government control of their choices to allow their kids to come to harm or their thoughts and prayers will keep their kids safe.

2015, the Pew Research Center conducted a survey of 2 thousand adults which concluded about 12 percent of liberals and 10 percent of conservatives believed that childhood vaccines are unsafe.

Ok. I’ll go there.

Trump is pretty well known for his ignorance regarding pretty much everything, but since I’m talking about vaccines ...

Maybe this can be our national emergency. It’s certainly real enough.

Anti-vaxxers drive me cRaZy! The reasoning behind it is always wacky, "They cause autism", "They're used to mind control us.", "They're a money making scheme.". Let's just say that vaccines do cause Autism (Which of course they don't) would you rather have a child with autism or a have your child die from a disease that we eradicated and could have been prevented with one injection?

I also think that people on both sides of the political spectrum are to blame for this movement.

And don't get me started on the "Flu shot gave me the flu." people

Pinterest, known for its inspiration on everything from cooking to party ideas and workouts, has been blocking vaccination-related searches for the past year.

The search engine confirmed the policy after it was first reported Thursday in the Wall Street Journal. Searches related to vaccines and vaccination fall under the company’s health misinformation guideline that was put in place in 2017, a company spokesperson told “Good Morning America.”...

Okay, well here we go. The beginning of anti-vaccine sentiment being taken up as a party platform?

Disregarding warnings by public health officials, an Arizona legislative panel on Thursday endorsed three bills that critics say will erode immunization coverage among Arizona schoolchildren.

The House Health and Human Services Committee approved all three bills in contentious 5-4 votes that were split along party lines, with Republicans favoring the measures and Democrats voting in opposition.
