Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.
My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much.
(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Your letter of eligibilty will expire on April 30? What I know is BP schools won't offer you a slot unless you will be able to finish BP before your LOE expires.
To answer you first question. The cost would be, a rough estimate of a total of 850k? Let's say.. 500k for tuition, around 100k airfare (round ticket), 150k housing (2 months), and 100k for allowance. That's according to my friend. But for the allowance it will basically depend on you :)
For the next question, I'm not sure if there is a fee for registration after BP. From what I know.. no fee :) Hope this helps :)

There is an assessment fee, registration fee and application fee to AHPRA when you submit your application form/requirements to them. I think it will cost you less than $500.

Ohh.. I thought that after BP, when your school forwards your documents to AHPRA for registration there wouldn't be any additional fee.
But of course upon application for AHPRA (before BP) there is a corresponding fee.

Is Anyone going for ACFE's June 3 intake? My agent is so weird. she's trying to convince me to go take my BP in etea. the fee is so expensive. i applied there but also tried my luck in ACFE. its $4k cheaper. and now she's telling me that ACFE fails students. and another desperate message.. though etea is expensive, they do refund after the course. is this true? i doubt it. she told me she just found out about it now. She already gave me a lotta pain in the ass. after convincing me and another client to take childcare while waiting for our eligibility letter in AHPRA. She enrolled us in a childcare course. when we got our visa she booked our ticket right away. the school didnt know we are arriving. we ended up sleeping in the airport and took a cab the next day. after that, i had a lot of problems with my application in AHPRA. i was asked a lot of times for additional requirements. after a year of waiting i tried to call ahpra and changed the contacts from my agent to mine. after that, it went smooth. got my eligibility after 17months of waiting. and now, there she is again discouraging me to go to ACFE. i spent and wasted lots of money because of her so guys, just make reading a habit. this website helped me a lot to process my ahpra. or if you'll get an agent go for a reliable and credible one. or might as well go to idp. Anyway, any feedback about ACFE's BP?
I doubt very seriously that the Director of EtEA would refund anything after giving you the course. Another trouble with private providers, they can give finders fee to anybody. Acfe has had no problems so far, unless of course they find you have not reached the competences of a 1st year RN in Australia, then I am glad they do not pass students, unlike some providers that have made statements, that they never fail anybody. Which is a worry. 4,000 is way over anybody else's fee, why? One must ask.
i doubt that too. thanks ceridwyn. ill go for acfe still. $4k is a huge amount. plud etea got lot of conditions on their accreditation. im on subclass 572 visa now. ACFE's iron programme is not CRICOS. would this be fine? my current school advised me they will just release me and after the iron i can just go back and enroll for the course again.
