Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Update: I already received my referral from Ahpra, actually I was given an option to go OBA or Bridging Program but I chose OBA. On March Ahpra will open portal to book for MCQ Exam.

I hope somebody will share his/her experience with regards to OBA. Or if somebody knows where I can find thread regarding the topic pls inform me. TIA

Hello I am on my initial registration to OBA too. May I know if you were able to proceed and in which stage are you in at the moment? Need help for this too as it is new and info is quite limited yet.

Thanks xx

This week Ahpra emailed me to create Self Check online though I already did my assessment with them. That what I'm on right now. I'm reviewing for my mcq also but no definite date when I will sit for NCLEX yet

hi just yesterday July 15, 2020, I received an email from Ahpra stating that they finished my portfolio and I can take my NCLEX-RN anytime after registration with pearson vue. I am very hesitant to take the exam now especially with the current pandemic. Do you have any idea how the NCLEX-RN of ahpra be? or is it the same as the US NCLEX-RN?

I'm so interested in your question. I want to know if I can use US NCLEX reviewers to prepare too. Furthermore, I graduated from the Philippines. I can't find anyone who's done with the OSCE, I'll like to know if I can pass it on my own without joining a preparatory class. The class is a rip off, cheapest I see is $5k

I think we can use the USNCLEX reviewer since Ahpra is not giving any notes/reviewer about the exam and the OSCE as well. We don't have any idea on the exam and osce, plus the new process really kills me. How can we know how to deal with this by not spending too much money? With regards to the OBA process, I'm stuck with #4 which is the exam, as per Ahpra, the exam centers are still close because of the pandemic, don't know when they will operate again.

This process really takes time. I don't know if I will still have the excitement on pursuing this.

If the exam is the same as US NCLEX, then why do we have to go to AUS instead of US? Nurses are really in demand right now, so instead of going there (where the process is long, costly and we have to pass the exam and osce), we can choose the easiest way. We can go to other countries without spending too much and easy, I'm just saying..

Hahay Im losing hope with Aus.

I share your sentiment. The process is like a gamble. It's quite expensive with no idea of what to expect and all. If I eventually make up my mind, I'll prepare for the NCLEX and osce on my own without paying for preparatory class. I figure if I don't pass the osce, I can pay 4k to retake it instead of paying the 5k for preparatory class haha. I'll just go with my luck.

This is where UK is quite enticing, but the pay is poor and it takes a longer time and money to get PR.

How about you, how far are you on the process? Tell me about your experience so far.

MCQ and OSCE centers are still closed as per Ahpra's website.
