Breast Implants

I was just wondering how you feel about this subject. Do you have them? Would you get them? Have you cared for patients with them and what was your experience? Have you seen any good or bad outcomes?

The compassion and understanding for those with different situations than your own is simply underwhelming.

And you wonder why the nursing profession gets no respect. The same profession that will sit there and say "Oh Mr. Johnson I'm so sorry that you have heart disease.....I can only imagine how hard this must be for you......here take these pills!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry as a nurse I will not succumb to the pill pushing....self depricating.....lazy behavior I see among patients and other healthcare professionals. I will educate my patients and push them as much as I can and give them the knowledge and the confidence and the help and compassion that they need to change their lives. That to me is what nursing is about. I recently introduced the benefits of raw milk (which is in fact illegal) to a patient with arthritis and to a young mother who's child has asthma. They couldn't believe the difference. The man's arthritis improved tremendously and the child now rare suffers an asthma attack. As a healthcare professional you will only hear the propaganda concerning the risks of raw milk.

Hey, I've had botox 4 times in the last 2.5 years and also fat injections in my cheeks (taken from my abd). I agree 100% that the surgeon makes the difference. The same surgeon did my mastoplexy (no implants) and abd liposuction 3 years ago. They say that the more botox you have the less time it lasts but so far for me I'm averaging 5-6 months between injections. It makes a world of difference between looking tired and looking rested and it then helps keep you from frowning during the time its working (so you kind of freeze the process). The fat injection was only .5cc in each side and is so subtle no one has noticed per se. As someone else said, I get compliments but they just can't put their finger on the difference. Very happy with all results

as a guy heres my take on them......... i dont like them. im a boob man and i like big ones but id rather be with someone who had small boobs and was comfortable with what they have. heres the thing i dont get. from what i hear women dont like guys talking to there chests but then they go and get implants which make there boobs stick out...... i dont get it. be comfortable with what youve got

thats my 2c

As a younger woman, I had a lovely set of breasts. No complaints. Then i had kids. Well that was the end of anything decent, they were more like fried eggs:( I felt embarrassed to wear my bikini or anything that would show my eggs:( I have a curvaceous figure but that just looked out of place as i also have broad shoulders. I didnt want to look like a man so i had it done. Not gigantic ones, just ones that look the same as before except I guess they sit a little better without a bra:) I feel good about them for me. I do hate it when guys like to speculate about if they are 'real' or not. It is none of their damn business and if they had half a brain I am sure they could think of better things to think about.

I like them as now my WHOLE body is in proportion again, just like before:)

In my experience, the implants are not attractive on older people. That's why I am not getting them myself. I am about a AA, and always wear a padded or lined bra.

I have heard of a new technique called the Brava Vacuum Bra, it supposedly increases your size naturally. I am planning on consulting with a plastic surgeon as soon as I get the money saved up. I will keep you posted with some more information.

I just wanted to add that I have a little philosophical reason for not getting them also. I would like to be an example to young girls that your body is beautiful NO MATTER WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!!!

I was teased horribly in grade school, when I was really vulnerable and it really had a huge impact on me. Boys can be so cruel!!! I bawled every day about it and still obsess about it to this day. I pray this does not happen to my girls I would be furious.:angryfire

I just wanted to mention, I have a padded swimsuit, yes they make them, and it is the only reason I can go swimming in anything less than a t-shirt.

I agree that recommending (actually prescribing) raw milk as a relief for arthritis or any other number of ailments (no matter how legit it seems to you)---- is practicing outside your scope. I would tread REALLLLLY carefully here were I you----or plan to face the BON one day, up on some kind of criminal charge.

BBing, as a "future nurse" you need to drop RN from your title. IF you make it through nursing school, one of two things will happen. Either you will realize how idiotic your previous posts are or you will lose job after job on your way to losing your license.

Nursing is very respected. It is opinionated dangerous nurses like you that give some people reason to suspect nurses. Stay within your practice and look at yourself before pointing fingers.

Thank you for saying this.

Go for it! You only live once so you may as well be happy with yourself! I went to Bogota, Colombia where they perform VERY HIGH quality Cosmetic Denistry and Plastic Surgery. I had a complete Makeover on my Teeth(10 gold /ceramic crowns, all my old siver fillings removed and replaced with the newer white resin Natural fillings. My Dentist also made me a custom plastic appliance I use at nite during sleep to prevent grinding--all my work cost $1800. My work in Miami would have cost me a minimum of $10,000 to a High of $13,000. Even after my plane ticket, lodging and meals(approx $1000 for 2 weeks) I still saved a minimum of $8000 !!!!!!!! A friend of mine went for Plastic Surgery--Boob Job and it cost $1900 and this included everything(labs, xrays, ect) A Tummy Tuck ranges from $1800 to $2400. Liposuction(which I am having done there at a future date-estimates range from $600-$1200 depending on Volume and areas to be suctioned. Prices are all inclusive(labs, meds, ect--not like here in the States where the Docs nail you for every little item which shoots the final bill way up) High quality work at extremely reasonable prices. Prices I received were from members(docs) who belonged to the Colombian Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Ps-on the Abdominal Lipo, its more then just Cosmetic; it has been shown medically to decrease the risk of developing Adult Onset Diabetes in Males. Like Savings on Plastic Surgery can be realized in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sao Paulo, Brazil but I am more familiar with Bogota, the Capital of Colombia. I have NEVER had any trouble with personal security in this Colombian city, BTW, in 8 visits there.
