Breast Implants

I was just wondering how you feel about this subject. Do you have them? Would you get them? Have you cared for patients with them and what was your experience? Have you seen any good or bad outcomes?

Sorry I should have clarified. They weren't my patients and they were not in a clinical setting. But you are right it would be outside of my scope of practice if I were to recommend that to patients.

I see in your profile you are a student nurse. Is this currently correct or are you a licensed nurse now?

I hate to see anyone give good money away to cosmetic surgeons - they prey on women's insecurities and are generally a scuzzy lot. I would never give anesthesia in one of their offices - don't care what the perks are. If a pair of artificial boobs makes you happy, I envy you for such simple little thoughts. Ethically, it would be more appealing if you donated the same amount of money you spent on the surgery to groups who go to poor countries and do REAL plastic surgery.

Kinda harsh. My sister is a breast cancer survivor, and had a double mastectomy about 10 years ago. Her oncologist referred her to a plastic surgeon who put her artifical breasts in for FREE- he does this quite a bit, because of all the cosmetic surgeries he performs- NOT REALLY SCUZZY- imho.
