Did anybody else have a SUPER boring history teacher? He talks non stop for 1 hour and 10 mins :: he doesn't post powerpoints or have a school webpage so you have to audio record him. He rabbit trails. He was talking about what america is and then started telling us the history of pizza and tomatoes (?). This is going to be a long semester.
The OP posted this in the General Nursing forum. That is why several people asked her what it had to do with nursing. Since it WAS off topic, it was moved to the student forum.
Well when I saw it, it WAS under students. I didn't know it WAS moved. I didn't think it WAS that big of a deal.
I'm sorry.
Thanks, it's ok. I'm up against a big challenge and I knew it'd be this way when I started my refresher course. I'm trying to stay chill and go with the flow with whatever is meant to be ya know? But seriously....I got a good belly laugh out of your comment and I really needed it :)
KThurmond, I feel your pain.
Sitting through monologues is my personal version of the tortures of hell. The expect you to sit still through it, too. Yuck.
I used to sit in the back of the class and doodle. I created a lot of great doodle masterpieces in history classes over the years.
I tried to Sherlock Holmes the people around me and figure out their lives from the crumbs on their clothes. Ha!
I also used to tell a lot of stories in my head. I had an epic 6 part Western going about my abnormal psych class. There was one shifty guy who sat up front that I thought would be an excellent villain. There was also a gorgeous, tall, dark, and handsome guy on the lacrosse team whom was the quintessential cowboy sidekick. I was the daring sheriff, disguised as a man to satisfy society's dictates. However, my hot sidekick found out my secret and was thrilled I was a woman, because that meant he wasn't gay. It was so much fun!
I got in trouble a lot during Q&A time, though, 'cause I had no idea what was going on.
(ADHD - blessing and curse.)
If you need to actually learn the stuff, then I suggest taking notes and making illustrations when you get too bored. My history notes used to look like an existential battlefield due to all the doodled blood, tombstones, weapons, whatever we were talking about the day.
Or just blatantly play on your phone. I forget you can do that now. I have an app called ReColor that lets me color. I love it!

Hahahaha best thing I've read all day. And I got a couple resume rejections today and needed a good laugh!
