There have been some issues with a few of the agencies in the Philippines getting their contracts cancelled because they could not provide the name of a valid hospital in the US that they had a contract with. Or the hospital is no longer able to sponsor a nurse for a green card. Check to make sure that this is not the issue. It is agency related.

One agency had 45 nurses that were cancelled, but I think that that group was in the earlier stages. I would definitely speak to your agency about this.

Dont think so. There are some talks about cancelling the concurrent adjudication of I 140 and I 485 but they can be applied together (along with EAD and AP)

Hi all,

I heard from a friend of mine that I140 & I485 can't be applied at the same time from 2006. If that's true, then ppl can only apply for EAD until they got 140 approval. Have anyone heard about that? I'm on a F1 visa and I'm worried about that.

Hello Dale, Suzanne!

My interview at the Manila US Embassy was cancelled by a filipino staff of the embassy, he said that my papers is for "recall to INS where it was filed" I was not given a chance to show my documents eg. visascreen, offer of employment etc, I was not also interviewed by the consul, they just took my letter of appointment and advised me that they will just inform me of another appoinment date. Do you know what's wrong with my papers, NVC said that I am documentarily qualified, do you know any possible reasons for this, I am so frustrated. :crying2:

The U.S. Embassy DO NOT JUST CANCEL interviews provided that you have an appointment. How can it be possible for recall when you are APPROVED and Documentarily Qualified? Do u still have your appointment letter? You should have requested to speak someone with proper authority like an American Consul or his superior. They should have provided proper explanation and documentation.

Call the NVC again to check your status, contact your immigration lawyer/ agency about this matter.

Dale

that would be the best advise anyone can give you -- TALK TO YOUR AGENCY and require them to provide you with a logical answer why that happened.

all we can give you would be conjectures. guesses. assumptions.

i just recently heard about a relative of mine, whose family is being petitioned by the father (family-based immigration), who passed through all the steps (USCIS approval, medical, embassy interview). they even got to the point of paying the courier for their visas / passports.

guess what? their petition was denied because of some fraudulent information declared within their papers.

think about the information you provided. there might be some inconsistencies. some facts you might have covered up (i'm sorry for the insinuation, just a possibility) that they found out.

or, somebody you know ratted you out before your interview about your work experience or something. this could have caused you being red-flagged by the embassy.

bottomline, talk to your agency and their counsel.

nobody deserves to be in the position you were in.

to say that it was unfair, is an understatement.

it bordered on being so inhuman!

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I hope you will know the real reason why your appointment was cancelled.

I think the best thing to do is talk with your agency/employer and also write NVC regarding your case.

Wish you the best!

They got my appointment letter, but I do have a copy of this. My agency is trying to figure out the cause of this.

the only thing I remembered is that my address in DS230 is different from my address filed at the INS office, but it's still in the same town, I used my mom's address when I filled out the INS application because I want my letter to receive on time since it is in the subdivision. That's all I could remember. I am still waiting for the reply of the NVC. Some says I have a common name which the embassy feared of having a connection with any terrorism, but still I am waiting for what the man says that they'll just inform me for another interview appointment.

Just wondering if you have heard anything yet?

Hi kid /roop,

to anyone who have been interviewed in Manila recently,

hi. i would like to ask if you were asked by your agency to prepare an ITR (?) Did the embassy ask for it during your interview? or do you know of any nurse who was asked to present the ITR during the interview? I hope you can give light regarding my inquiry. I would really appreciate it.Thank you so much. God Bless! :)

Ms.Nightingale

hi,

in my case i was not asked/ adivised to bring ITR.:) based on my experience the embassy just asked the appointment letter, original employment letter, housing letter, passport, original visa screen, as well the p.e. result. but st.luke's the one who forwarded my result to the embassy.

if you already passed the NCLEX-RN they'll ask you to present your "hard" license i.d. or they'll just check with your BON in the computer for verification. ( i brought my original NCLEX-RN certification but they prefer the license i.d.)

were also asked to present a wedding picture (it's a case to case basis) good thing i have one inside my wallet. :p

hope these infos helps..:)
