BCIT Nursing Sept 2021 Intake

Published

Hello!

Just wanted to start a new topic for the next intake for those applying in Feb 1 2021- March 15 2021 for the Sept 2021 intake at BCIT!

BHSC, PSYC, ENGL all pretty good but not the best. Had to upgrade MATH and CHEM and surprisingly got A's (since I bombed those back in high school LOL). I also did some time at Langara and VCC so I have credits for HIST, BCAP, and whatever else they want to accept.

I was previously a MOA for a specialist for about 7 years, and I've been working as a casual float clerk for VCH for the past 2. Both of them aren't exactly direct patient care, but I've really connected with a lot of our regulars while at the specialist office. I tried to highlight that in my application.

I'm probably most anxious about going back to school in my 30s. I'm going to give it a shot anyway!

I thought applications would open by 0830 but nope LOL.

I think everyone is feeling a little nervous! Don't let being out of school for awhile discourage you from pursuing your goals! It will definitely hold its challenges getting back into the classroom setting but perseverance will get you through it. You got this!

I am guna guess and say they'll either open up by 9 or 10 am at the latest. BCIT registrations are usually at 9 am so I think it might be 9

Still nothing? I thought applications open at 9am. Hmm. ?

I called BCIT and they said they literally don't know it should be open by now and to just wait it might be a glitch

I applied to UBC as well, still working on my supplemental. I prefer BCIT but you know might attend UBC if I get in just because it is a shorter program. I got an email saying they have more than 800 applicants, so I am realy nervous RN

Why do you prefer BCIT? Yeah I got that email, its crazy! I wonder if all schools will get a surge of applicants due to the pandemic. Maybe the pandemic inspired people to be nurses or they think it's a stable job to have no matter what happens?

whose applying tomorrow?

I applied! Did anyone do the quiz before? How many questions are there and what is the time limit?

It' nice to know I am not the only "mature" student applying. I was doing a bachelor of science degree at UBC in my 4th year and decided to switch to nursing. I am actually currently on maternity leave and I miss school a bit ?

I prefer BCIT because you get to graduate with two specialization courses, and preceptorship is paid and it is closer to drive too.

I thought you also got paid at UBC during clinicals?
