BCIT January 2018 Intake

Published

Hello everyone!

Now that the 2018 January applications are open, I thought that a thread should be started about it.

To those that are wondering, I'm applying with:

A&P 1 - A-

A&P 2 - A-

Psychology - A-

English - A-

Physics (elective 1) - A-

Philosophy (elective 2) - B

So, overall I'm applying with a 3.55 GPA. I have no previous degree, or relevant work experience. However, I do have relevant volunteer experiences.

I'm so nervous about my chances getting in. How are you guys feeling? What are your grades like?

Good luck to us all! :)

Hello Everybody,

Finally my application is in!

I am applying with a GPA of 3.54/4.0 or 3.83/4.33. My overall GPA is 3.05 so am more concerned about that one if it comes into consideration.

I included a Volunteer Position with VCH in my application quetionairre in the additional information section that I'm starting in a few weeks.

All of the relevant experience I included is from jobs I have had in the past that aren't related to the health field. However the experience I included was managerial, intructional, along with serving experience (which I've heard they love).

I was told by an academic advisor that if you want to be considered for both the Jan and April intakes to include a request in the applicant questionairre.

Best of luck to everyone!

Today's the last day to apply for the January 2018 intake!! Make sure your applications are in on time :) Best of luck everybody!

Waiting game begin now. Does anyone know, how will be the non-cognitive questionnaires ? Because I was thinking I can read something before answering questions. Thank you.

They will send out an email saying you have been selected to do the questionnaire and you will have between certain dates to complete the questionnaire. There is also a time limit.

They will basically tell you what the questions are going to be on. Examples are leadership and communication skills. I've done it once and it was 4 questions and 90mins to answer

Hi! do you have any idea of when they send out those emails? :)

how do we calculate our gpa? :)

I think it took about 3-4 weeks after the deadline for them to send out the emails. And it goes to your bcit email so check that!

how do we calculate our gpa? :)

You just need to add up all of your prerequisites individual GPA/mark, and divide it by the # of classes. For instance, pretend there are 3 prerequisite classes; in one, you received a 2.33 GPA, in the other two, you received a 3.66 GPA. Calculate the sum of those numbers, and then divide it by 3. The cumulative prerequisite GPA should be 3.22.

In the last week of September. Then you will be given 90 minutes to finish the questionnaire in the following week. Later, the final selectee will receive acceptance email around in the middle of October.

I hear those that applied for april 2018 will know by februry of their final status.... Is that true??

Hi, I am just wondering if anyone will know when they will start notifying people on acceptance for the January intake? I've been really nervous and its all I can think about haha. This would really set me at ease.

I am in the same situation as you. I am not sure when they will send out acceptance letters but based on previous intake forums that I've read, it might be by the end of September until middle of October :)
