BCIT January 2018 Intake

Published

Hello everyone!

Now that the 2018 January applications are open, I thought that a thread should be started about it.

To those that are wondering, I'm applying with:

A&P 1 - A-

A&P 2 - A-

Psychology - A-

English - A-

Physics (elective 1) - A-

Philosophy (elective 2) - B

So, overall I'm applying with a 3.55 GPA. I have no previous degree, or relevant work experience. However, I do have relevant volunteer experiences.

I'm so nervous about my chances getting in. How are you guys feeling? What are your grades like?

Good luck to us all! :)

Hi, I just put in my application for Jan. 2018, it seems that it is only possible to have one active application at a time so not possible to apply for both Jan and Spring intakes. I spoke with someone who does intake for nursing at the info day in March or April and she assured me that it doesn't matter when an application is received, as long as it's on time. Good luck everyone! :)

I received this email a month ago, because they had finally received all my documents.

Is it because you just submitted your application? We won't have any answer before the deadline (Aug. 31). Let's be patient now :)

I intend to apply for the September 2018 intake. Just wondering what kind of volunteer experience you guys have acquired?

I recently applied at a senior care facility, but I'm not sure if that would be relevant enough. Tasks seem to include spending time with the residents etc.

I've been volunteering with Providence Health and their Emerg Department, plus did some work with a residential site helping out during Bingo. PHC is always looking for good volunteers! Plus there's great educational opportunities and free workshops/seminars that are offered pretty regularly. I would highly recommend.

Hi guys I applied for 2018 January session at bcit nursing, I got an email saying that you are missing a document and your application is incomplete. I uploaded the document and now I am stressed, that they will review my application or not. Please help.

i have GPA For prerequisites 3.7 and I have 70 post secondary credits with GPA 3.6 and. I am employed as a care aide with Vancouver coastal health from last 2 years and I have 3 months of medical assistant experience in USA. I am really stressed and please let me know if anyone had same experience. Thank you.

Hi sona2nurse,

I think I might have the same situation as you but the only difference is that I submitted all my documents. I told Admissions if it's possible to upload and change some of the documents I already uploaded in my profile since I wasn't sure my summer transcript will be finished before August 31. You said you're missing a document right? I recommend emailing and contacting [email protected] and ask them what's the proper solution for your problem.

Thank you. I phone admissions, they said upload it as soon as possible. But I am worried because I was thinking that will they consider my application.

No worries. I will feel the same too but one of the admission officers sent me an email back saying that i need to upload it as soon as possible and he will then inform the selection committee about any changes made. Also, he reassured me that they review complete applications throughout the application process :)

Hi All!

I Applied for the Aug 2017 intake and made it pretty far into the process, I made it to the questionnaire but did not receive an offer so I'm hoping I will get an offer for Jan 2018!

I have 32 credits and a 3.2 gpa

I applied with libs 7002, 7021 last year and have since taken libs 7001.

I have 6 years experience working as a first aid attendant on construction sites.

Volunteer experience as a coach for multiple sports but not health related volunteer work.

I asked why I was not given an offer last year and they said it was because my questionnaire answers were not strong enough.

good luck everyone!

3 more days until application deadline!

I have volunteered with Richmond Hospital in their ER, birthing center, and another unit. I have also volunteered in a senior's home and at vaccine clinics for schools.

I think by the end of September through mid-October we are supposed to hear our results from them hopefully, but the long wait makes me go really crazy.

I feel ya! I put in my application in June, so I've been waiting a few months now. Realistically, I don't think my chances of getting in are great, but I still have hope. If nobody minds sharing, what are you guys going to do if you don't get an offer from BCIT?
