Langara January 2018
Hey! I'm not sure if you got your class schedule yet, but those that got accepted from the start have already registered for courses. Just from the look of the class schedule and from anecdotes, it shouldn't be too difficult to work a couple of hours a week. We only have classes 4 days of the week, so that's gives you plenty of time to work, study, and maybe even catch up with friends. Be sure to join the Langara 2018 January Nursing group on Facebook (it's under the name Langara Nursing Jan 2018 Intake on FB). :)

BCIT BHSC 1200 A&P?
Hello! I took the course in 2016, and I loved it! It is a VERY heavy course since it is condensed, but it's definitely possible to do well if you put in the time and effort! My professor was **g, and she was, by far, the best professor I've ever had. She's extremely relatable, and she teaches the material in a simpler and understandable manner. She uses a lot of analogies to help you understand. My favourite part of the course was that they actually make you apply your knowledge and expect you to use your critical thinking skills. During every lab, they would do a case study where they present ex. symptoms of a flu. In this scenerio, you're expected to list out the things you're supposed to do to help with the symptoms, and use your critical thinking skills on the physiology behind why it would be a good idea to do this. I'm pretty sure they do this to prep the students going into BCIT's nursing program since they do this as well in the program (they use problem base learning PBL in BCIT nursing). I hope this helps!

Has anyone else gotten an email yet?

From what I know, hold list basically garuntees you a spot in the next intake. But I would verify this.

BCIT January 2018 Intake
Hey guys, I emailed the BCIT nursing about the new curriculum for April 2018 to find out when students start clinical. They informed me that clinical won't start until the 5th week (whereas in the January 2018 curriculum and those before, clinical starts in the 2nd week). Breaks in between each semester are also about 2-4 weeks long. Hopes this helps you all!

BCIT January 2018 Intake
I think I'll be sticking with Langara. I really wanted to go into the BCIT Jaunary intake, and not the April because I don't like the new curriculum as much. If I choose BCIT April 2018, then I would be graduating a semester later vs. if I go with Langara January 2018. Honestly, if I got into BCIT January intake, I would've chosen BCIT over Langara January intake. If BCIT offers me a seat for January, I'll take it within a heartbeat. I did apply to Langara as a second choice, and BCIT January 2018 as my first choice. I'm glad I did. So, either way, I'm starting nursing school in January. Can't keep all your eggs in one basket.

I emailed them around 5:45PM. If they don't get back to you this evening, they'll get back to you tomorrow. So, might as well email them.

They said everyone that hasn't received an email will receive one on Monday, so both I guess.

BCIT January 2018 Intake
I just sent an email. They said that 96 offers were sent out today. They said that they will send out more emails on Monday. Those that did not pass the quiz will get a non-offer. They told me that I passed the quiz, but I'm not sure if pass means a good percentage or not.

Has anyone gotten a non-offer email yet? Also, to those that got an offer, did your application status change? Congratulations to everyone that got in :)

I'm not sure. They would have to send out the emails latest by Monday, so that everyone receives their email by Tuesday. So, it's still a possibility that they'll send them sometime this week. One can hope :)

BCIT January 2018 Intake
Hmm, interesting. I've heard that it was the other way around. They do usually send out emails within a few days, and not all at once. So, if they're doing that this year, that means they have to start sending out the emails by Monday.

I'm thinking of sending them an email, but I've already sent them so many regarding other things.
