Hey everyone, I know the BCIT January 2019 admission deadline is still a ways to go but I just wanted to know how many people are planning to apply, and also exchange some advice and questions with each other.
First off, I'd like to show you what I am applying with:
Highschool reqs
Precalc 12 - 99
CHEM 11 - 86
UNI reqs (UBC)
ENG112 - 74 (B)
PSYC101 - 72 (B)
CPSC - 86 (A)
STAT - 82 (A-)
A&P1 - TBD
A&P2 - TBD
I'm taking A&P in the Summer
experiences
- senior home (occupational therapy) volunteer
- first aid volunteer
- pharmacy assistant volunteer
Here are my questions:
Does BCIT determine your GPA based on your own university's grading scale? Or their own? And also, I'm not too sure about how to calculate GPA, since there are so many different scales online. Can anyone provide an accurate estimate of my GPA?
Does number of hours you've volunteered matter? Or do they consider it by months? Because I don't see a box where you input how many hours in the form.
How strong does my application look so far, and any advice?
Congrats guy :) seems like only January intakes are hearing back hey? I still have no emails so I'm assuming I'll get a non-offer email tomorrow. I also applied for the January intake so I've accepted what it is already. While this was stressful, I enjoyed talking and meeting you all! Wish you all the best and good luck to the April intakes! I'll be applying for the September intake next year :)
Hey everyone, I just received an email at 3:14pm saying I'm also on the top 15 list. I only thought top 10 had a chance of getting in, but it says in the email that the possibility of seats becoming available for the January intake are good, so I'm praying it works out!
from my understanding you will get moved to the april intake if you dont get in the january intake. i bet its a certain number of applicants from the top of the list that get considered and top 15 sounds probable
Also I forget which of you are, but those applying for april intake dont stresss!!! I think people with automatic acceptances hear back first because the rest is up in the air depending on how many people defer, reject their offer, etc so you may not hear until the january intake starts because they'll be figuring out waitlists
