Baton Rouge Comm. College (BRCC) 2013 acceptance letters

U.S.A. Louisiana

Does BRCC still mail out acceptance letters in June??? I'm eager to know!! If so, I have a long wait!

I guess so. But I have a friend that's going into her second year and she said she hasn't used the Comp. Handbook of Lab & Diagnostic tests or the dictionary, for what it's worth. And that list doesn't say that the Fundamentals Success book is required, but our packet says we're suppose to bring that book to our orientation.

I got my physical and shots at a clinic in Clinton, then they sent me to a hospital for the blood work.

So did you buy all the books that says required

I bought all of them except for the handbook of L&D Tests, but I'll probably get that one too before school starts.

Ok I'm on amazon trying to order. What did y'all do about the Fundamentals of nursing bundle? There are different options so in not sure which one I'm supposed to order??

I didn't see that book? I'm wondering now if I have the right list??

Nevermind I see it now :)

Correction on the Health Requirements!!

BRG Family Health Center: the $199 actually only covers the physical and titers. Vaccines are additional charges (Varicella=$98, HepB=96, MMR=53, CBC=no charge, HIV Test=$58.50)

Capitol City Family Health Center: Physical $25-227, Titers & TB test $19-20/ea

Total Occupational Medicine: The quote is closer to $460

Sorry about that! But I thought I'd update what I learned as I'm a part-time worker with no health ins so these health charges are a huge deal to me!!

Also thanks to everyone else who's posting information! It's so nice to have everything in one spot :)

Thanks for posting all that info!

Ya'll are so awesome!

I've got an appointment with my PCP tomorrow, and since my deductible has already been met I won't be out for the physical and vaccines/lab stuff.

And thanks for the info about the classes being in the mornings, that will help me when i schedule my other classes.

I'm getting everything together, so hopefully i'll have it all taken care of next week!

What non nursing classes are you taking? I still have A&P II so ill be taking that along with fundamentals :(

I'm taking A&P II too. The only 3 non-morning classes they have at the moment are MWF (4-6), MW (6-9), and TR (6-9).

It's the Potter one. I got this: LINK

That's what came up when I searched the ISBN number on amazon. I guess it's a new edition so it's not out until August 12th, but that will still be plenty of time before school starts.

I only have statistics & micro to take. I will take Micro in the Fall w/ Fundamentals. I don't really have to worry about taking Statistics until later on. I do know the last nursing class had issues w/ advising. A few students had to set out a semester until they were done taking PSYC.... & I think Micro.

Does anyone have an idea of the nursing classes schedule? I have a little info.

*My co-worker is in the nursing program now... I have an idea... Some what!! But of course things change....

We will start clinical "in house".

The class will be cut in groups & we will have different clinical days at different facilities, possibly on Saturdays depending on which group you are in.

Class days will be at least twice a week!

---That's all I know so far, if you hear anything different let me know!! I just wanted to give u guys some insight like I have.

Thanks 4 being so helpful!!!!!!!!! I actually got a lot of ideas on what to do w/ the nursing packet from reading the posts!!

I'm on my Ipad, I don't know what happened, but skyla on stated the 1st sentence. Lol. I wrote the rest! Sorry:)

Hey y'all!! So I'm confused about classes. I haven't taken a&p 2, micro, nutrition, or statistics yet. Does that mean I have to take all four of those this fall in addition to the nursing classes?! I'm going to make an appointment with an advisor but just wanted to see if y'all knew anything about that first!
