Baton Rouge Comm. College (BRCC) 2013 acceptance letters

U.S.A. Louisiana

Published

Does BRCC still mail out acceptance letters in June??? I'm eager to know!! If so, I have a long wait!

What all clinical supplies did Uniforms by Bayou give y'all? I was told a watch was on that list and I just realized the lady didnt give me one.

I didn't get a watch either... but that's not a big deal, i'll pick one up.

I got the basic kit plus lab glasses...My total for everything was 140 something.

I'll go back for the shoes and I'll ask about the watch.

Where are y'all getting your shoes? They had some at the uniform place but wanted to see what other options I had[/quote']

Do they have to be all white???

When you say supplies??? What did it consist of?? I already have some stuff. Did these things come in a kit? I have a stethoscope, measuring tape, & some other stuff I can dig up.

The scrub shop (Bayou) gave me a copy of the equipment list. This is pretty much exactly what it says:

EQUIPMENT PACKAGE $49.95 (Sold Separately $64.95)

-Clinical Lite Stethoscope

-Bandage Scissors w/ Colored Handle

-Pen Light - Disposable

-Hemostat

-Blood Pressure Unit Economy

Safety Goggles +$6.95

The discounted price for the steth was $20, so hopefully you can save that!

Do they have to be all white???

They told me shoes MUST be 1) All White; 2) Leather; 3) Full Front and Back (no slip-ons, etc)

Bayou does give 10% off "professional priced shoes" for us. But I think I'm going to shop online and try to get a discontinued style at a clearance price.

When I called Classic Image for prices they read me the list of things and it said a watch with a 2nd hand. On brcc's website they have the student handbook online and at the end it lists clinical supplies and the watch is on that list also. So either we need it or classic image needs to update their list. Of course you can get a watch anywhere, but if we need one we need to know! So that's why I'm a little confused on the watch issue...

Thank you so much!!! All I need is the hemostat, pen light, & goggles!! I really appreciate the list!!! It gives me an idea of how much I will spend!! Thanks again.

The watch is probably like the khakis and shoes- we need it but a lot of people probably already have one so they're not too strict on forcing us to prove proof of purchase. At least that's how it sounds to me.

I'll probably pick up a cheap one eventually.

Just saw this post today- I will be joining you all in the fall!

In regards to pre-req's, Psyc 202 needs to be completed before Maternal Child Nursing and Microbiology must be completed before Adult Nursing II. For the courses in the spring, you will need to have taken A&P2 along with Fundamentals. All this is according to the Nursing Curriculum.

I still need to take Micro and Psyc 202, but planned on just taking Fundamentals and Psych this fall, and then waiting to take Micro next summer. (gotta make sure they will be offering it though!) Taking all three may be a recipe for disaster, as I will still have to work F/T :banghead:

Oh, and $550 for textbooks? Ouch!

So did anybody here receive a letter? I got mine this week and have been running around crazy ever since, trying to meet deadlines.

I've bought all my supplies and a watch is needed. Also, when I

went there, I was informed that the school would supply our goggles.

Sorry everyone, I haven't logged on in so long that I didn't realize people already answered my question. Oh well, congrats and see you all in the fall!
