I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO BAPTIST AND WILL BE STARTING THIS FALL. I AM SO EXCITED. I WAS WANTING TO KNOW IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT AT ORIENTATION AND ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES AT THE SCHOOL.
I didn't take Micro there, but took A&P,Patho and Nutrition. Take advantage of the sessions they hold down stairs in the Title III lab. The instructors will not come in and just repeat a lecture, but they do make time to be there to answer any questions that you may have on the subject being discussed that day. They usually try to schedule the topics so that they are relative to what you may be covering or covering soon in your lecture class. Also, use the ADAM Lab upstairs in the BIO building. Many instructors actually assign material from it. Even if it isn't assigned they may use some of the information for quizing.
hi guys. sorry it's been so long, i'm out of the country. but before leaving i called about the books. the woman wouldn't give me the ISBN numbers so i could order them myself (although she did give me the names, authors and editions). it sort of ****** me off that she wouldn't give me the ISBNs - she said it would put them out of business if they did that. i can understand that but we're students...TRYING TO SAVE MONEY!!
anyway, the book for AP1 is a new edition...$250. ouch.
The bookstore won't give out ISBNs because they've got to sell books to stay in business, but what's the college's motive for witholding the ISBNs? It's my understanding that the bookstore is not owned by Baptist; if this is true, I'd like to know why the school doesn't provide a list of required textbooks when we preregister.

That's a thought. Why not bring it up to the student association there? And see if you can get a list of required books? But one reason they might not publish a list of required textbook is because books change, and they might not always use the same textbook.

If anyone is taking Nutrition you can use the new edition of the book (not brand new so there are used versions available) or the older one or try and get one from another student. The instructor follows the book exactly. All you have to do is highlight the things she says and follow her study sheets and you are good to go!
