Banner Nurse Fellows Program

Published

I interviewed for the nurse fellows program through Banner about three weeks ago and still haven't heard anything! I was talking to another girl there for an interview who said that her friend (I know, I know, don't listen to anything like this, but I can't help it!) got a call a week after her interview offering her a slot. Has anyone else interviewed and heard anything?

I don't know why I'm so freaking out about it. I'm already accepted into Mesa to start in January (I deferred) but I WANT TO GET INTO THIS!

Hey I am trying not to be rude but I was not given the questions in advance and I don't think that they should be posted when I just went to my interview without knowing them. No offense but the other posters/readers here are our competion and it is not fair for them to know the questions and be able to prepare when the rest of us were not able to.

Again I am not trying to be mean but...

Thanks!

Wow! I must say I'm surprised by your post. Let me address a few things. For the record I didn't (nor would I) provide the specific actual questions to the interview. I merely stated what is pretty much common knowledge for anyone who does any kind of investigating as to what is covered in the interview. If you look through this thread itself (and others like it) from the beginning you will clearly see that for yourself :uhoh3: . I realize we are in competition for the slots, but I don't feel there's anything wrong with saving someone some time and not having to read the entire thread to find what to expect on the interview like I had to. For the record all is fair in competition, so you had best realize and understand that now. Personally, I wouldn't care if every single person I was competing against had the questions in advance and I didn't. I'm getting in either way. Now you can look at that as arrogant, cocky...whatever. I look at it as I'm confident in who I am and what I bring to the table.

I will only caution you not to lump everyone into your opinion ("other posters/readers here are our competion and it is not fair for them") of it's not fair to "you". If that's how you truly feel, that's fine and it's your opinion and your certainly entitled to it. However speak for yourself and not "others".

And for the record I'm not offended at all. You would have to work REALLY hard to ever accomplish that :).

Hope your interview went well and you get a slot.

Good Luck!

I wasn't really referring to your answer but to the people who ask for the specific questions to be posted. I thought that your answers were pretty much what had been posted on here already. I did not mean to upset you, that was not my intention at all.

I think that I did really well on my interview also, however had I had the exact questions beforehand I could have done even better.

I wish you all of the best!

Why are you so sure?

Why are you so sure?

Why am I sure? Really? ...Because I'm confident in who I am and my abilities.

Would you prefer I have a negative attitude? Hope and pray I get in? PLEASE! If you want something, work hard and go get it. The intensions of my words are positive and confidant in nature and not pessimistic and down trodden. You know nothing of me and my attitude or abilities.

I had my interview yesterday and I think that I did pretty good.:)

I think that it will be a long wait to find out though and I hope to hear sooner than later...

Good luck to all of you and keep posting about your progress.

Glad to hear it went well for you :).

I asked them when they would notify us either way and they stated the 2nd week in June...just FYI.

Not a whole lot of time considering the cohort starts July 6th.

Im really sorry if ive offened anyone by asking what questions were being asked. Perhaps I should have asked; Im just nervous and want to be as best prepared as possible (Im sure everyone can relate to that?). Id have no problem telling people what was asked when I went in there because Im sure theyre looking for more than just a good answer to their questions, and I also know how hard we all work and Id do anything I could to help out another future nursing student. Again, sorry for asking.

Okay people, once you get in you'll be working with 29 people for all four blocks-- and everyone has things that are annoying to people. Just gotta learn to get along . . .

And yes the questions have been posted in thread somewhere- basically find the Banner mission statements and give examples of how you have reflected those in your own life. They ask the same questions each round of interviews.

Dont be sorry for asking what to expect. It is normal to be nervous and wanting to be prepared. I wasnt prepared when I had my interview and actually thought I was until they started asking questions that dealt with their mission statement LOL. It doesnt have to do with the right or wrong answer, I think it has to do with the kind of person you are. I thought I did terible in my interview but hey I must of did something right because I am almost done with Block 2 of the Banner Nurse Fellows :). I have never thought of any of the other applicants as competition just fellow students who want to be nurses like me. It is all about working together as a team to become great nurses :). Good luck to you all.

Amazing how one post can change the direction that a thread goes. Nursing is about teamwork and not about individual competition. From the beginning this thread has been about sharing information to help people be prepared for the opportunity that Banner offers through the nurse fellows program. It is sad to see the meanness that individual competition can bring brought here. It is not needed and not welcome in my opinion!!

I think that the information that has been posted here is very helpful without giving the questions away that they ask you. If Banner wanted you to have them then they would send them to us in advance but they want to get our real responses not ones that are made up or reheorificed. I must admit however that I wouldn't have minded having them posted too. ;) I also think that knowing the values of Banner is what is important to know so before your interviews look them up. I don't think that anyone posted anything that is out of place, just asking questions and giving opinions.

We should continue to ask questions, be encourageing to one another, and help each other along, that is the spirit of nursing.

So enough of that...

I think that waiting for the email is going to make me crazy. :lol2: Does anyone drive to Gateway from the west side? I am wondering how long it takes during rush hour because doesn't the pt program start at 5:30?
