Banner New Grad Experience

I have an interview for banners new grad experience. I was wondering if anyone has gone through this, what the interview process is like, was there more than 1 interview. How soon did you hear back. What was the program like.. and any tips for the interview! So pretty much any and all information that you might have!

I work with a few new grads. The way they explained it to me is: you are hired through Banner staffing services. Which means you can technically be floated to different floors in a way.

You get assigned a home unit for your first 6 months so that you can orient and get a little comfortable with yourself. Then after 6 months, if your unit is staffed enough but another unit within your service line is understaffed, they can move you to that unit for a minimum of a 12 week assignment. Some units are never iverstaffed and you would probably never be moved. While other units do overstaff and you may be moved.

All good information! Maybe I misunderstood what the recruiter told me. Anyway, I'm happy to have this position. :)

Technically, they cannot float you at all for the first year, unless you go to core staff after 6 months. Once you're core staff, they can do whatever. If you choose to stay BSS for that entire year, you're not eligible to float.

Hi All,

I applied to their New Grand program on 8/18 and then another one on 8/28 but haven't gotten a response back yet. It still says "Pending Recruitment Review" Does anyone know how long it took them to respond for an interview?

I applied to the west valley new grad program and they never responded so about 4 weeks later I applied to the east valley and got an email 15 minutes later to set up an interview. It was definitely a freaky thing. I still have friends waiting.

Yeah, I applied to the East Valley RN New Grad on 8/18 - and its still pending review.

Then, I applied to the West Valley on 8/28 - pending review.

I been applying at Dignity, Maricopa Integrated Systems, HonorHealth, etc...and no one has reached out for an interview. I even work at HonorHealth for 10 years and they helped pay for my schooling and I did my rotations here, but I'm not able to get a call back from them. So discouraging.

What? Really? That's shocking that you work for HonorHealth and they won't call you. Have you tried talking to your manager? When I talked to my recruiter from Banner she said they look at so many applications each day and they are always hiring for new grads so don't lose hope! I know a few friends who are still looking and haven't had any call backs for interviews. So frustrating!

I would contact the recruiter, or even reapply. I first applied in April and got nothing. So I reapplied and got an email the next day.

Also, I'm surprised about Honor Health, my classmate just had an interview there and they told her they already had the spot filled but needed to go through the interview process, that they were hiring from within, and it seems they usually hire their employees.

Also, it's tough right now. Many of my classmates are still fighting for interviews and we graduated 5 months ago, and that's just my class.. I know many others are in the same boat around the valley..

It can be discouraging but you will get an interview before you know it!

And I'm sure you know by now, if it's not listed as a new grad job, they will skip past you. I applied to so many jobs, and got no where..

For turning in all the required documents, did you have to go in person for anything at all before your starting day? I'm trying to go on a vacation overseas before I start working. Thank you in advance!

You will go in 2-3 times before your first day. One time for your HR pre boarding. This is where you turn in any paperwork they request and get your orientation info. And then you will go in for occ health stuff a couple times.

Hi guys. I have recently applied to the banner new grad program as well. I applied to West Valley and still no reply. I applied to east valley and received an email for an interview. Does this mean they are only hiring new grads in the east valley right now? And if I interview with an east valley recruiter will they only offer me east valley positions or do they take your location and preference into consideration?

You'll have the opportunity to choose West valley locations at your interview! I thought the same thing when I interviewed too but she let me choose where I wanted to go so I'm sure you will have the same opportunity!
