  1. It's a very busy level one trauma center. The ED is HUGE here and always always busy. I imagine it's a great learning experience!!
  2. Perfect! Thanks so much, I'll wait a little while longer and speak to my manager about switching to nights.
  3. Hey all! I currently work on a busy orthopedic floor with ~5 months of experience. I like working days, I love my coworkers and management but I want to switch to nights for shift diff. I have no issue sleeping during the day. My question is: how do I ask my manager about the switch? What is the most professional approach? Thanks to all who reply!
  4. I wouldn't feel discouraged! Maybe "M" has a different approach to the hiring process. All the friends I recommended happened to interview with "J" and 2/3 got a job with Banner. The other one got a job quickly after and is loving where she is right now! Even if Banner does not work out there are options so don't give up.
  5. No actually it was "J" and my interview was for the east valley but they do the hiring for both!
  6. I hope you get it if that's what you want to do! I'm going to try and shadow someone in the ER soon!
  7. Thank you for asking this question! The more I look into moving to the ER the more I want to but I'm in no way an adrenaline junkie either. I want to work with many different people with all kinds of ailments so I think ER is where I belong. Have you chosen to do the ER residency?
  8. They're always hiring new grads but there are always so many applicants to get through. That's what my recruiter told me anyway. They start new grads every Monday! It was so tough to find new grad positions and to even get an interview was awful but I'm really loving Banner right now. My unit is great and I feel very supported by everyone.
  9. You'll have the opportunity to choose West valley locations at your interview! I thought the same thing when I interviewed too but she let me choose where I wanted to go so I'm sure you will have the same opportunity!
  10. Yes you have to go in for your occupational health appointment and also an onboarding appointment with HR. They will schedule you for both.
  11. I just received those socks in the mail and they fit perfectly! Thank you so much for the recommendation!
  12. That's great! I really hope you get it! My interview was Aug. 15th and I started today so I had about 3.5 weeks to relax. The interview is behavior based questions and was pretty pleasant as far as interviews go. She hired me on the spot which was excellent! I've only just started but so far every single person has been welcoming and very nice. I'll be starting on the floor this Saturday in the ortho/spine unit.
  13. I just ordered some on Amazon! Thank you!
  14. Ok I'll check CVS, thank you! I am also almost 6' tall with long feet :/. I did measure my calves, 19". I hope they have something for me!
  15. Hey all, I am looking for compression socks for long legs and wide calves! Where on the calf should the compression sock fit for best results? Mine at the moment fit about three inches below the knee even though they're supposed to be "knee-high". I'm beginning to thing that I don't have options because even the men's compression socks are too short.
