Baker College NET test

Published

Hi everyone!

I will be taking the NET at Baker this spring. Does anyone know if their test includes A & P?

I know, I am hoping. I am really getting anxious too. I heard that there was a "nursing seminar" on Aug 13th, but I can't confirm it with anyone.

I just want to friggen know if I got in.

I am moving at the same time, so this will take my mind off of it, right? LOL

Gem,

I just pm'd you

I am wondering too, does anyone know where Baker does their clinicals?? I haven't heard anything about where they usually go.

My friend is in the RN program and she said that so far they have been going to Crittenton, St. Joe Oakland, Beaumont, St. John, Henry Ford, DMC etc.

No, I didn't. I am number 46. I am kind of hoping about 5 people don't pass their drug tests or their criminal clearance... :chuckle Horrible of me, isn't it??

No way, I'd be hoping for the same! That sucks :(

Good luck! I'm rootin' for ya!

I know you aren't talking to me, but it is more than your 3.9. Take the GPA of the 6 sci classes they are using... and multiply it by 2. Then take the 4 other classes, and the gpa, you get for that, and add it to the GPA of the 6. If you need help, I can help you with that.

You will have a total of 12 possible with that.

I picked up the packet today..

8 and under transfer credits gets you two bonus points.

less than 17 gets you one bonus point

17 and up gets O bonus points.

Then if you repeated no classes you get 3 bonus points.

When I spoke with them in February, they said NO one the last time had all the points.

So get your total from your gpa, mine is 11.14.

Your transfer credit bonus points, I have 2.

Your repeat bonus points, I have 2.

Then your score from the NET, I don't know this yet, but let's pretend I got them all. (HAHAHAHAHAH) that would be 7.

The total points possible would be 24. I would have 22.14/24.

If you reapply this fall, you get another bonus point, but you have to keep the denial letter and submit it in the fall as proof. So I guess that makes the total possible 25, but if someone is reapplying, they didn't have the total amount possible in the first place.

My score still didn't come in the mail today. Hopefully tomorrow.

And in the packet it says they will let us know by August 1st. So kind of them. I guess that gives us almost 2 months to get done what needs to be done, but that is also two months of waiting.

Ok I don't get this math part.

If I take my GPA in the 6 science classes and multiply it by 2, I get 48 (4.0 in each class is 4.0 * 6 = 24 *2 = 48). How in the world did you get a total possible points of 24??

You take your gpa in your 6 sciences. That would be still 4.0.

4.0 * 6= 24, then divide by 6. You are back to 4. Then times by 2. So that would be a total possible of 8.

If you had what my scores are you would have a 3.07 * 2 to get 7.15. Out of 8.

I hope you get how that goes??

I'm getting 6.14 when I take 3.01 * 2 :/

As for the first part, I didn't realize you needed to divide. I get it now, thanks!! :)

I wanted to update this. I just got a letter that Baker is now using the grades for INF111 and 121( I think that is it) as well as ENG101 to determine the single weight section of your points.

Does this mean if you waivered (I didn't) those classes you have to now take them?

I left a msg with the nursing office about this. I waived out of the INF121 and had to buy a program that was $50 to do so, and it will not be very fair if you had to pay something to waive it then have to take the class. You know darn well that the program I bought is probably obsolete now and I will have to buy a new one.

The letter said weighted total for the sciences and GPA for the others, is this the same formula as before with the 3 classes added in? The thing that sucks is that I know a lot of people did not take those 3 classes as seriously because they did not count against you as much and concentrated on the ones that did.
