Hi everyone!
I will be taking the NET at Baker this spring. Does anyone know if their test includes A & P?
I also received my letter today (regarding the adding of the gpa) from Baker. Just wondering if this is a good thing or bad. I have to retake the net again anyways, because I only received a 76% on it. Is anyone else trying at another school while trying at Baker? Just wanted to know and "pick" your brains if I can.:redpinkhe I jujst don't know which way to go and am so afraid of getting that rejection letter again from Baker.

Wow, you got a 76 on the net and still did not get in? I scored a 69 and didn't get in. How many points did you have? I am applying to Baker in the spring, Macomb and St. Clair. After getting that rejection letter I decided to cover my bases.

I am hoping that when you apply in Fall 09 it will be okay because the change does not go until the spring. I really hope that I do not have to take another class after I did a waiver for it. I haven't heard back from the nursing department, I spoke with and advisor and she did not know.
Hi Jabraham99 and Shannonmarie7, I don't know how the waiver works. Is that like transferring in credits?? Are either of you at the Clinton Twp campus? I just started a class at MCC because I thought I would try there also. I am taking the Hesi on December 13th and then the net at baker again on the November 14th, so we will see. I am going to apply at both places..Have either of you transferred or copied your transcript to other colleges. I have been on hold doing that, because I thought maybe baker would hold it against me. Do you know about that? I had a total of 20.64 points. How about you?

I am taking my hesi at MCC on November 14th and my Net at Baker on November 6. I had a total of 21.55 points. Yes, I did have my transcript sent from Baker to St. Clair Community College. I am hoping that with the extra point Baker gives for reapplication will assure me a spot. I need to increase my score on my NET. I am at the Clinto Twp. campus.

I am taking the HESI at MCC on 12/13. I know a few others are trying at MCC as well. It depends on how far you are willing to travel.
It looks like we will be taking the HESI together on the 13th... I don't have far to travel for either college. Wow you have 21.55 points, that is great. I can't see why you won't get in. You figure with the extra one point and then doing better on the NET (which you will) that also brings you up by a point or more, you should be in...Of course it depends on how many they are allowing to apply. Last time there was 152 people who applied. I lost two points because of withdrawling from a class before it started and because I had to re-take A&P 1 over. I had Forrest the first time and he was a killer in A&P...I had heard about St. Clair but didn't go there, what is the rules for getting in there?

I had Forest for A&P1. I loved that guy. I got an A in the lecture, but I didn't do as well in lab... and I had Tominello. I think I would have done better if I would have taken the same instructor for both.
Do you have the HESI in the morning or in the afternoon. I have a class that morning (I needed to keep my student loans, because if I get a regular job, I won't be able to pay for my school and live... when I start the program), so I am taking it that afternoon.
Hopefully, I will get at least a 95, then there will be hope. But I will probably be -->|this close|
I wanted to also say that Baker doesn't hold it against you if you are looking at other schools. The point system has no way of anything subjective like that.
If anything, I think it is a positive that you are looking at other schools. You are motivated to do what you need to do to get where you need to be.
I got in MCC & will start this winter. My advice for the Hesi is to take your time. I read each question numerous times before answering (no matter how simple it seemed). My friend rushed through it and didn't come close to scoring high enough. If you spend the time earning a high GPA in your pre reqs, don't blow it during this test because it is worth 50%. Also, the vocab section is tough for a lot of people, so make sure you look at all the answers carefully. Good luck! BTW, I scored 94%.

How long of a time limit do they give you for the Hesi? Did you feel like you had enough time to really look over the questions? I worry about not finishing in time. Congrats on getting in to MCC!!!

Shannon, yes, they just added those in. If I would have gotten a B- in Comp 1 when I took it in the first place, instead of dropping early on (NOT due to a bad score! or because it was hard) I would be in the program now. LMAO.
Let me know about the rules for the waiver thing. This changes nothing for me, but I am curious, and I agree, it isn't fair if they make you take the classes, after they made you pay to waiver them!
