Any Fall 2011 ACC hopefuls out there? I start my nursing skills class in March and am very excited. I'm reapplying next week for the Fall. If I calculated my ranking correctly I should make it in.
Good luck everyone!
i bought mine on amazon separately. the book and dvd were $88, study guide $22. also there a bunch of posts on craigslist but they are mostly for older editions, so not sure if those are ok to use.
i also bought mine on b&n i paid 85 book with dvd. i have not bought the study guide. i am just not sure if the dvd that comes with the book is the one they mention on the package. i googled it and this is what comes up
fundamentals of nursing: the art and science of nursing care + study guide + [color=yellow]taylor's video guide to clinical nursing skills student set dvd pk
thats why i wonder if its the dvd that comes with the book??
Hello all!
I was just wondering if anyone can offer some guidance....while waiting to get into the ADN program I figured I should do the CNA course at ACC and just submitted my request for a background check through PreCheck which is the same service that ADN applicants use as well. I'm freaking out because it says that they may look at credit reports and I don't have the best credit but not the worse either. Will this prevent me from being accepted to ACC's nursing program?
Thanks!
Thanks LD424! I was thinking that they can't deny your acceptance into a program based on your credit since I'm sure there are so many of us that don't have perfect credit....especially the way the economy is now....I just needed some reassurance.
No they don't look at your credit when they do the background check. It won't affect your ability to get accepted. ACC only looks at the point system.
Hey guys, for those of you who have young children and go to school..
How difficult it is to combine family and school? Do you also work? My kiddo will be starting Kindergarten this fall, I will be in nursing school. I heard the school load is pretty tough.. so do I need to have somebody else take care of my daughter while I am in school and do homework? what is the approximate schedule for the nursing school? I know they talk about it in the orientation, but I would rather hear it from real parents- nursing students and how they are dealing with it..
I would like to plan ahead and get some help if needed rather than risking failing in nursing school. Thanks for any feedback!
no Mom- nurses on this forum???
I'm a mom of two boys, mine are a bit older 8 and 10. From what I understand, unless you are doing the hybrid program, you really can't plan ahead because you will not know till the week before if you are in the morning or afternoon classes/labs. I now work part time, but if I get accepted I will be quitting to concentrate on school. You can go on the ADN website and click on the campus you are interested in to see approximate workload/time/etc. As far as the cutoff scores go, the word is 52-53. Hope this helps.

Thanks, LD!
So you really think there is no way you can work part time and do school?
IT will be interesting to see the actual cut off score.
