  1. I've been following this thread for sometime now as I too have applied for endorsement, even drove from Austin, TX to San Diego (my hometown) to do my livescan. What I'm frustrated about is that the BRN website has updated their processing time for a temp license. I spoke to the licensing supervisor on 8/12 regarding my application and he stated it would take 6-8 weeks for a temp license which is all I want at this point so I can start working my contract in Sacramento. However, when I checked the BRN website they have a new chart posted stating that this has been updated on 8/26 in regards to processing times. Now, a temp license will take 10-12 weeks to process according to their lovely chart. I'm sending in my complaint now.
  2. Do we need to provide our physical RN license on Monday? I have my license # but I haven't received my actual license in the mail yet.
  3. Congratulations everyone! Crossing my fingers that I will be able to get through this on Monday.
  4. Congratulations DeeRN2 I'll be taking mine on the 16th and I'm a nervous wreck.
  5. LittleYogaNurse, I too have taken the Hurst review...and I'm actually doing a repeat review just so that it is fresh in my head before I take the NCLEX this month. Just FYI, I read that there was a survey done in 2011 of individuals that used the Hurst Review and passed the NCLEX and the scores were 85/125 on the Hurst Q reviews. It didn't say if all 6 Q reviews were taken before the NCLEX but I don't seem the harm of answering as many questions as you can and knowing the rationales behind it. Hope that helps!...and Best of luck to you!
  6. Finally received my ATT...scheduled the NCLEX-RN for 6/16 at 2pm....I'm studying like crazy
  7. @MAgradnurse...I PM you my email.
  8. @MAgradnurse, I sent you a PM....I hope that helps...let me know if you have any questions. Best of luck to you!
  9. I started working as a CNA at my local hospital 2 weeks before nursing school started. I wanted the job because I knew it was probably my only chance to get my foot in the door of the hospital I wanted to work at in a city that has numerous nursing schools and only 2 major hospitals. I was told when I first started working on the unit, that it is the toughest unit to work in out of all the hospitals in the area and that if I could work on this particular unit then I can work anywhere. It definately is a tough unit, I learned a lot...a whole lot... more than I did in clinicals. I struggled with juggling work, school and a family...my life consisted of school, work, family, get some sleep and do it all over again the next day. I was hired on for part time but actually worked full time for the most part. I am the sole provider for my family so I had to work while in nursing school. I beileve anything is possible if you have the drive and determination to do so. It was and still is tough to work full time, raise a family and go to nursing school. People ask me all the time "when do you sleep?" or "how do you do it?" Honestly, I don't know...I just take it one day at a time...and almost 2 years later of full time work, school and mommy-hood, I'm 12 days away from graduating with my BSN. Believe me, if I can do it, you can do it too! :) Best of luck to you!
  10. texaslvn12, I also signed up for the NCSBN review as well. Just FYI, once you sign up your time starts counting down...I thought I had the ability to start my review when I was ready to but this isn't the case. I also did the Hurst live review during our winter break before S2. Once you sign up, you have unlimited access to their live reviews for a year and you have the ability to access your online content review when you are ready to. So I'll attend Hurst again after graduation for a nice refresher :)
  11. @RNBritt, what part of Cali are you from? I was born and raised in San Diego and have been living here in Austin since 2010 (due to the military).
  12. Congratulations to all! After this long process of interviews I finally made a decision that was best for me, my family and my future career. I accepted an offer for SMCA ICU. Hope to see you all this June.
  13. Just received an offer for UMCB :)
