U.S.A. Texas

Any Fall 2011 ACC hopefuls out there? I start my nursing skills class in March and am very excited. I'm reapplying next week for the Fall. If I calculated my ranking correctly I should make it in.

Good luck everyone!

so glad we finally got our emails to register!! :) i did notice though if you register on the 7th (yesterday) or the 8th (today) then your payment is due today, the 8th but if you wait untill the 9th or after the payment isnt due until August 5th....

is anyone going to the evc n do u have any recommendations about the teachers

thanks

I just registered for classes, it's so exciting to finally be a step closer. I also emailed about the flu shots and they said we didn't need it until later in the semester no matter what campus you're registered for. So far I thought that amazon has the best prices on books-the only one I couldn't find was the case studies by Hesi, does anyone have any suggestions on where to get that book cheaper than on campus?

I found the evolve case studies on amazon but I had to search for it in the advanced search using the ISBN # and it was $50, someone did mention though that they didn't use it untill during the second 8 weeks so I was thinking about holding off buying that but I'm not really sure :confused

I went to the bookstore at the EVC and they said the Evolve Case Studies was a code that we were going to need to access the case studies and it was going to be $66 when they got it. She said they should have it in the beginning of August and apparently the code is going to be good for the 2yr. duration of the program.

thanks ACCNS and lmchapa for the info. i think i might just buy all the books now cuz i don't know when they're using what and if we'll need to reference things at different points in the semester. i wish they told us exactly when they use what books cuz it would save me some money-at least for a little while. :)

I'm telling ya, we didn't use the case studies at all for all of level 1 hybrid. They walked us through the registration proccess and helped us to get it set up with the access code and so on when the second 8 weeks started. So naturally I thought we were going to use it for something but nope.....didn't refer back to it for any assignments or anything. I wish they would've told us that and I could've saved that money for semester 2.

But like it was said earlier, it is good for 2 years after you register and pay for it.

ok cool thanks that answers our question!

We have modules and in the modules we have learning/study guides which questions come straight off of. There are also PP to print of and bring to class for notes. There are also some matching games/vocab terms I use. Then their are quizzes not for a grade but every test I had there were at least 2 questions exactly from the quizzes so do them. Me, I studied with the guides, pp, vocabulary games and quizzes and did very well. Some people just do PP. It depends on the person but just going to class and reading the PP personally is not enough and reading the book/ doing the guides made info make sense to me. The quizzes I cannot stress enough to study them, they have freebie questions practically.

Dear Jackfackmasta,

Thank you for your input.

If you are in RR campus, would you recommend teachers?

I can send you my private e-mail address if you are ok.

Even if they change things up for this new semester you still have the opportunity to purchase it instantly through the website. That's what I did.

I am at RR this summer only for my summer class. I am at CEC normally. For professors, it doesn't matter who you register for. We all sit together in one big room together as a class while the teachers come in and teach the group as a whole. We don't split by professors. For clinical you get whoever you get.

For anyone shopping for one, I just ordered my stethoscope from steeles dot com and they have the best prices I could find on the web for Littmans.

I ordered the Littman Master Classic II for $100 including shipping and they shipped the same day.

For a good starter stethoscope, they have the Littman Lighweight for $42 plus shipping which is a great deal as well
