Hi ya'll-
Thought I'd get this started for the rest of us who, sadly, did not make it in for Fall 2010. I'm hoping to re-submit my application for Spring today (or this week). Does anyone know, do we receive the form from the nursing office? Or, is this something we should grab from the website?
My score upon re-applying will be 54.899. Dang, sure am hoping this will be high enough and get me in this round!
How's everyone else holding up? Did everyone complete the pre-req - 1105 already? I have not and won't (due to extenuating circumstances) until early Fall. Will this negatively impact my chances of getting accepted? According to Tammy and the office, no. But, wanting to get everyone's input. Hoping we will hear about acceptance by Sept. Does anyone know this date for sure? The application period closed July 15, don't know why it takes them so long to get this word out.
Anyway- good luck to you. This is my 3rd round of applying so I sure am ready to get in and get on with this career change!

I love reading all these posts..... I am a Fall 2012 hopeful. I know...thats a ways away.... Next fall I will apply to the nursing program. I am currently in Anatomy.... struggling a little. Way is it that all the non-science classes I rock in but Anatomy I struggle in? Makes me wonder if I am going into the right field. I want so very badly to be a nurse. Did anyone else find this class difficult/struggle but made it through? If so what did you do to make it?Congrats to everyone...... Perhaps we will meet in passing.
I thought Anatomy was a lot harder than Physiology. I took pictures of the models in lab to make 'tests' for myself from the pics.
Yeah I received a "B" in Anatomy but got an "A" in physiology. I remember bombing the test over the central nervous system in Anatomy which brought me out of reach of the "A". Physiology was so much more interesting to me because it taught me how the body systems work and why they do what they do.
Hello, I have never posted on here before but have read this thread since the beginning. So much great information! I was accepted for Spring 2011 at CEC and I'm wondering if anyone knows if we can go ahead and get our TB tests yet or not. On the health data form, it says it has to be done within 90 days of starting the program but on the website it says it is good for a year and on the email they sent us, it says we can go ahead and do it. So, any suggestions? It would totally be my luck to have to defer a semester because I got my TB tests too early!! Thanks and congratulations to everyone who has made it and good luck to those who are waiting!

I sent an email to Tammy to clarify this because there are new guidelines for TB tests. On our physical form it now says we need to show documentation of a negative two step TB test within the past 90 days prior to beginning the Program. I had to get a yearly one for Seton in September and the 90 days will be up in December. I got an out of office reply from Tammy stating she will be back in the office on Monday.
So you might want to hold off. If this form is true, it sounds like we need 2 negative TB tests. Maybe getting the first one in November and then a second one in December.
Did anyone else interpret it like I did?
I emailed Tammy too and got the same out of office reply so I emailed Sheila and she said that the tests have to be done 1-3 weeks apart. She didnt really clarify if we can go ahead and get them now or not, she just said "the only problem with getting it now is that they are only good for one year so the longer you wait, the longer it will be good for." I also just had to get a TB test for Seton, that's why I am wondering if I can count that one as one or not.

If the tests are good for one year, it just doesn't make sense to me that ACC now requires two tests. I hope my test for Seton in September is still acceptable.
My uniforms were ordered last Tuesday and those will take 2 weeks to come in so I am all good there.
Got my clearance from my background check today. Now it is just waiting for the department to give clearance to register. After I register I think it will really feel official!
I checked my email today and I got an acceptance letter. When the acceptance letters came out, I didn't make it in. My ranking was 152. So either more people declined or more spots came open. There's hope for those that are on the border line.
Congratulations, Madterriers, on getting accepted! I think I am getting closer with my 161 rank position.
I feel like there is still a good chance...but only time will tell
Also, good luck to you, bigbluesmokey, keep us posted! :)

I think that you have very high chances of getting in. Since they did ask her what campus she wanted, there is at least a spot in every campus, if not more. Keep your fingers crossed and wish you luck!!!
