Austin Community College (ACC) ADN Fall 2021

Published

Hi there! I know it's pretty early but I thought it would be nice to create a thread for all of us who will be applying for the Fall 2021 cohort, keep each other up to date on upcoming deadlines, and this whole process in general.

Hope y'all are keeping safe and staying sane during these wild times.

I was told mid-July.  They can't expect us to have everything in by August 1st if it's not up so I'm not worrying about it.  I assume that's all most of us have left.

True youre probably right I'll hold off stressing LOL! thank you!

I get it!  Like you, I just want to know I have everything checked off and complete.  Yes, try not to stress... plenty of that ahead.  ?

I am hoping we get to rank preference for clinicals.  Last cohort did but who knows how things change from cohort to cohort.

Hello again! I am trying to get a feel for my schedule this semester. I noticed we are registered for labs 2x/wk for 8-3pm or 8-4pm. Is this right? Seems like a lot of time in lab.

I too was wondering this. I was thinking maybe they will give up a time slot in that time to keep the occupancy low but that’s just a guess. I wish we knew more!

Normally, you'd get assigned AM or PM. With COVID, they were giving us exact time slots.

You do spend a lot of time in lab for level 1.

Did anyone purchase the EHR tutoring separate? I went to the website my.ehrtutor.com/signup and signed up for the year and it was $62 but when I went to purchase my text books it reflects $92. Is this a separate thing ?

Just trying to ensure I am not purchasing it twice

I just bought everything through the ACC bookstore.  I talked with someone the day before yesterday and he said that when they ship our books, they will include a card with the access code on it.  I'm assuming that's all we need and then we register using the access code prior to 8/20.

Hoping others chime in.

That's annoying if the bookstore upcharges $30!

I bought mine also through the book store assuming they will send the access code. I also noticed the upcharge but my books are paid through my program so I didn't pay any mind to it. But I thing everything you are saying is correct so I would think buying through the site is better than the bookstore but I also am not 100% sure.

I also just bought the software with my books online from the ACC bookstore. I don’t think that you need to buy it twice. I think you are just supposed to buy it with your books. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong though.

Did they tell you when they would ship our books? I’m still waiting on mine to be shipped.

He said they were getting ready to send shipments this week.
